I have a question about BOTB

I was just checking TN to see if it had been posted, and was reminded that there's something I've been wondering for a very long time.  Why is it still posted each week on the Nest?  My assumption is that it was a weekly thread that originated before The Bump existed, and a place for people to talk about their pregnancies in one place.  So has it just stayed on The Nest out of tradition/habit?

I am honestly (truly) not trying to stir things up or anything even close.  I'm genuinely just curious.  Wouldn't it make more sense for it to be on this board?  Or is there something I'm missing?

    It was originally posted on TN so that people who weren't comfortable coming the TB or S-TTC didn't have to come to TB if they didn't want to.

    I kind of recall there being a vote a looong time ago about which board to put it on. I think the consensus was that BOTB is for people thinking about TTC, those who are actively TTC, and those who are PG. I guess some people felt that if it was moved over here it might alienate the "thinking about/actively TTC" group because a lot of those people aren't regulars over here yet. At least I think that's why the decision was made, I could be totally wrong though. :)

    maybe not alienate, but make it so they wouldn't ever see it.  I know I learned a lot in the 2 years I was on the board before we started TTC and I wouldn't have seen BOTB if it was on the Bump.

    PP are right about ther being a vote about it (last one was 2 yrs ago) and it was voted it stay on the other board. I honestly think it makes sense to keep it over there. It allows those t-ttc or just thinking about it, to not have to come over here, which might be hard for some.
