Re: Hey Ladies!!!
hi LeeAnn! Congrats on the baby and the move. I moved to the columbus area last October. My husband and I bought a house out in Canal Winchester, about 15 minutes outside of Columbus. We actually own a few other houses we are fixing up and gonna be either selling or renting. 2 are very close to the Lindin area. It depends on where you are from but I would not want to live in Lindin. Some of the area is very cute and the houses are nice, but then a street over is run down and not very nice.
Where will you and your husband be working. Do you want to be close to a certain area. We love the area we are in, and would recommend it to anyone. I am still new to the area and haven't found much luck interacting with people from this site. I am on week 23 of my pregnancy and posted about new mommy friends and got no response, so I thought I would be helpful to you.
Who is your realtor? We used Exit Trinity, located in Gahana and our realtors name is Tracey. If you are looking for someone else or someone who will be completely honest with you. She still does a lot of work for us with my husband's business. Hope this was all helpful and if you have questions, comments, concerns, you can aways ask. I am also a banker so if you are making a move and need someone to help with all that, my branch can help!

Hi LeeAnn,
I moved to Columbus 2 years ago and have lived in Dublin (Northwest side) near Tuttle Mall and now own a house in Grove City (Southwest corner). If you have questions about either of those areas, I would gladly try to help! I liked Dublin a lot, but for us, it was a bit pricey and we really wanted land. Grove City has some older neighborhoods but has a lot of new development and is bringing lots of retail to the area.
Congrats on your pregnancy! There are a lot of hospitals to choose from. I was going to deliver at Grant but I just miscarried, so I really can't give any advice in that area. My experience with the Ohio Health system has been positive though.
Best wishes!!

I would recommend OSU hospital, which is where I had both my boys. The nurses and the food was great after I had my kids ! Lol
I am from right outside Lancaster toward Carroll. I went to Bloom Carroll Schools and they are great. The graduating class is only about 120 atm and I highly recommend it.
I agree with pp on the Linden area, sorry. I live in the Hilliard (NW side of greater Columbus area) and love it! I have to drive out to Marysville for work so its a great location for me, while still staying near everything I could possibly need. Where will you and DH be commuting for work? My favorite suburbs (with good school districts) would be (in no particular order): Hilliard, Dublin, Powell, Upper Arlington, Worthington, Westerville, New Albany and Gahanna... Pickerington is also a nice area, but the school system has gotten iffy reviews lately (my parents live there).
Congrats on your pregnancy! I delivered my first at Riverside and this LO will be born there as well. I have two friends who rave about St. Ann's in Westerville too. I've heard the new Dublin hospital is pretty much amazing but they built it within the last 3-4 years, so its bound to be nice! The two main hospital systems are Ohio Health and Mount Carmel. My OB is part of the Kingsdale OB/GYN with two locations; one in Upper Arlington and the other in Powell.
Good luck with your move!
Also,
this house is right down the road from Mount Carmel East...I toured Riverside and it was ok the only thing i didnt like about it was that children such as my 4 year old could not stay in the mother baby room with us at night which is pretty much a must unless we have family that comes up right away due to us just moving here! Do any of you know if Mount Carmel East does this or not? i have a tour with them on September 7 but I would like to know about this first. I also have a tour at grant on the 29 of this month
Hi LeeAnn. I just moved here last Friday, so I'm not too much help, but we live in Powell, and I really like it so far. It's very family-friendly. It's convenient to almost anything you could possibly want. It's right by the Columbus Zoo.
I haven't been to an OB yet, but I made an appointment with Kingsdale Gynecologic, as they came highly recommended by a close friend.
I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy and a stress-free move!
My co-worker lives in Reynoldsburg but she's in a part that goes to Groveport-Madison; which is also where my son goes. I would go to www.ohio.gov and they have listing of the school's state report card so you can see how they rate. She also had her last child at Mt Carmel East and recommended it. My doctor's office delivers at Mt Carmel East and Grant (I went to Grant). I know they didn't mind if a child stayed as long as there was another adult that could accompany the child. In the paperwork my doctor's office gave me for both hospitals doesn't say that they can't. That area by Mt Carmel East is by where I work and not a bad area. The area there near Broad gets congested but not too unreasonably bad.
My doctor's office prefers Grant over Mt Carmel East and I really liked Grant (except their parking - but they have valet also). I had great service there. I was only there for a little over 24 hours but it seamed like I knew everyone and they helped make my experience great
