Not a complaint--just an observation

Anyone else find that LO's movements actually hurt lately?  She's been pushing hard against my belly a lot lately--I swear she's trying to escape (though she seems a bit confused about the location of the exit Stick out tongue).  It can get fairly uncomfortable, but it's the one discomfort I don't really mind.  Just a little bit ago though, she made some crazy, stretch-her-whole-body movement, and OMG it hurt!  I actually gasped out loud.  I just can't believe how strong she is!  Anyone else's LO practicing for Wrestlemania in there?

Re: Not a complaint--just an observation

  • Only once in a while does it get painful or uncomfortable. Those are the times I get hopeful that he is turning head down so I don't mind. Then I find out he never turned and he just likes to tease me Stick out tongue

  • The movement isn't so uncomfortable for me, but every now and then LO gets wedged into a position that has me breaking out all the tricks to get him/her to move.

LO has been wedging his/her hiney in my ribs lately and there is just no way to spin that to make it comfortable.  I also get cervix jabs every now and then which stop me in my tracks not because it's painful but because it's just SO strange.

bumping from my phone. please pardon any typos and missing punctuation
  • I think he was stretching out last night because I could feel him waaaaay on my right side . I also think he is trying to shove/swim himself from one side to the other as fast as he can. I'm happy for all the movement, but he's not quite as gentle anymore!

  • Yes mine is doing it right now. She likes to do weird alien moves around my tummy. I don't mind though because it lets me know she is doing okay.

    Weirdest feeling ever.

  • my lo is helping with my poor posture I am guilty of slouching..well everytime i slouch I get a swift kick in the ribs, lol I have been making yelping noise(cant help it) cause a kick with hurt. well i work with my mom in small office and she came out of her cubby to say did you hear a cat. I laughed so hard I cried. Also when I make anykind of startle look or movment at home my 6 and 8 yr old boys say she wants to come out there is no room in there ill get your hospital bag,lol I heard movement slows down at this point (33 wks) but she seems to be more active all day long. cant wait to meet my little black belt :)

  • Oh yeah! LO was transverse for almost the whole time. 3 days before my last appointment, he was really hurting me and I knew he was turning. I could see his little feet almost "walking" up to the right spot. Sure enough at that appointment my MW said he was head down now. So my cervix, that has been left alone this whole time, is getting headbutted to the nth degree. He sure is making up for lost time in that spot! Smile

  • Yep! And like I have said before you & I have short torso's so there is less room to stretch. I gasp a lot.

I had a dream when I was pregnant with Justin that his foot came out of my belly button (because he was SO active) LOL.

  • yes - the latest theme song for this pregnancy is "Break on Through tot he Other Side"

  • Oh yeah!  She's getting bigger for sure and I think she is not too happy with the close quarters, it takes my breath away on occasion, but I agree with you, it's one discomfort I really don't mind!

  • Little Man's being doing this constantly, from 20-something weeks on. Now that he's bigger, it feels weirder and weirder. Though I'm beginning to think it's not only him pressing, but also Braxton Hicks (my entire belly gets hard). It doesn't hurt, it's just uncomfortable or feels weird. I welcome other people's thoughts.

Yes! I think Baby is definitely getting cramped in there nowadays because while I have yet to feel any crazy rib kicks or anything, I think he does regularly try to stretch himself out or readjust or something because all the time now I feel like he's just ramming his head straight into my cervix. He actually kept doing this the other day when I was visiting with my sister and she said it sounds like he's "knocking at the door" lol. It reminded me of what you said about her trying to escape!

  • For starters, complain all you want, that wasn't the intention/message of my post earlier Smile

But as these lo's run out of room it is crazy what some of these movements feel like.  What amazes me is at 20 weeks, I had a sonogram and on the little screen was his full body.  Then I had one last week at 34 weeks and his face fit on the screen.  Nothing else.  Holy crap that's a lot of growing!

I'm right there with ya Lyse!

Mini apparently is not a fan of yoga. I was in the cool down phase of my class last night and he gave me the biggest kick I've felt to date. Not exactly the relaxing mood I was hoping for...

  • Yes, quite a bit lately. My LO is still transverse and is wedged in at a weird angle.  Her movements have gotten pretty uncomfortable, so much sometimes that I actually gasp out loud, but you are right, no complaints, just happy she is still moving :-)

  • Yes! Last night she had her feet in my ribs and it hurt soo bad! She definitey doesn't stay head down though because her butt was sticking out and pushing on my ribs this morning. Stick out tongue

  • I know exactly what you mean! I love feeling him move and am no way going to complain about it. But sometimes it can be very uncomfortable and I'm left giving him a side eye wondering what in the world he is doing in there!

I ask her this all the time.  I know she's head down, so I keep trying to picture her in there, but these movements are so all over the place that I can't figure out which part is where.  I did distinctly feel a foot on my hand the other night though.  It was completely creepy and completely awesome at the same time.

  • Yes! She loves to kick this one spot right under my ribcage and it is so painful it makes me scream! My doc says its possible to get internal bruising.

  • Yep I hear you!  I get from feeling kind of squirmy, uncomfortable movements to downright pain when he headbuts my cervix/pelvic floow region! Fun!
  • Almost all of LO's movements are painful now. She doesn't just move a little bit anymore, now it's her whole body in every direction as hard as she can! I've had lots of talks with her about being nice to mommy, but she doesn't seem to listen very well!

Yep, Holden is head down too! I know every single time he gets hiccups. They always find his heart beat in the same area. He has been head down since 17 weeks! I have felt his little butt press against the left side of my stomach and his little feet at the top of my stomach. It's neat to know what position they are in. I have a long torso so he has plenty of room, but sometimes it doesn't feel like it!

  • last Friday she was pushing out on my belly all day. I was sore. And she must be stubborn, she refused to move despite all my poking and prodding to get her to change positions. That was the first day she actually made me uncomfortable.

  • My LO does this occassionally.  When it feels like he is trying to get out I tell him that we are not playing "Aliens".

  • Sometimes when I'm out shopping I'll get a kick that stops me in my tracks.  I tend to make like an "oof" noise too.  Like if someone punched you in the stomach.  Once in a while I'll see someone notice and they stop for a second too until I start walking again.  Like they're waiting to see if my water broke or something.

I swear this kid is going to bust my ribs right open one of these days.  I'm kind of scared of how much bigger and stronger he's going to get in the next 7 weeks.

  • Yep, every so often she moves or does something that hurts a little. I can only imagine how it's going to feel in a few more weeks. Yikes.

  • It usually hurts when LO basically punches me in the hipbones.  He's head down, so when he moves his arms, he hits me in the pelvis... and a lot of times, when he does that, he'll kick me in the ribs too.  He's an active little bugger! Smile

So there's this boy. He kinda stole my heart. He calls me "Mom"

    Baby #3- ????? (ttc soon)

  • This one is a mover, so I have had painful kicks, punches, and jabs for weeks.  That said, I have a short torso and I think LO is starting to run out of room ... definitely more rolls and stretches now, less painful :)

I do often get a little heel in my side though - can't wait to kiss that little heel outside soon!
