Newbie with Questions

Hi Ladies!

My name is Kristi and me and my husband are just starting the TTC journey. My last birth control pill was June 26th. I am still waiting for AF or a BFP. I didn't chart this cycle as I am just learning about it now. I did have EWCM Day 15-19 with odd pain on Day 21 (maybe O, not sure), So I could be DPO 9. I did test this morning for giggles and got a BFN.

I have read the newbie link and taken the FF tutorials, but still have a few questions, I am hoping you can help with.

1) Does ovulation typically come during or after EWCM?

2) For those who temp do any of you work nights? I am an RN so I have a rotating day/night schdule. Do you still get accurate charts?

3) I would rather not test with OPKs at work. For those who use IC and test once a day do you think you have missed a surge?

Welcome! EWCM can come before and during O.

Sorry I don't work nights but I know if you don't temp at the same time every day FF will give you open circles and may not confirm O if you have too many of them. Try your best to temp at the same time (after at least 3 hours of sleep).

Can you use OPKs before work?

Im new at all this charting too. I took my last pill on June 21 and just started on July 27- 31 day cycle (i was 26-27 days very regular pre-pill). Im a day shift nurse 12 hr shifts...i don't know how temping will do for me b/c my schedules vary from week to week. I don't plan on temping for several months as My husband and I are still in the "whatever happens, happens" mode and not worrying with OPKs or temping just yet. I was reading the FF tutorials as well and it says to temp at the same time each day and get at least 3 hours of sleep before temping and just don't know if that is entirely possible for me. I am trying to chart CM, and figure out what days I would be more fertile based on CM and previous cycles. With that being said, I wouldn't test at work either...but thats just me. From what I have read, CM tends to dry up after ovulation, so I would say that EWCM would be right before you ovulate to your ovulation day. However, someone with more experience in this TTC board will be able to elaborate more. Good luck in TTC!
