We were planning on waiting to build up a nice nest egg, but that wasn't how it worked. We were married on April 9th and found out May 12th we were expecting. I've always wanted kids and the sooner the better for me, so even though we tell people we didn't plan it, people don't believe me.
Very much so. We started trying in January '11 and were blessed to get pregnant the first month we tried, but we lost the baby. We were cleared to try again in March, and again got pregnant the first time. We're so thankful Sawyer seems to be sticking around.
Absolutely we were trying... Since October 2008. Never thought it would take so long and need multiple IVFs to finally get a BFP. So grateful to be blessed with twins.

This is very similar to us too! We began trying in December 2010, got pregnant in Feb and lost the baby in March. My dr said to wait until after my first full cycle and we were able to get pregnant again that first month we tried after the m/c. I'm so thankful too this pregnancy has been a strong one!
We had planned to start trying this summer but I kept reading that it could take a healthy couple anywhere from three months to a year, so we figured we'd just start trying in April. Apparently, we're pretty fertile and also very lucky.
You could say that we were trying... for over 2.5 years. 3 IUI's and 1 IVF later, we're finally blessed with not only one, but two babies. I can't wait to meet them!

Yes. We started trying April 2010. It took a year for this sticky BFP and 2 loses. It was such a shock that it look a while since we got pregnant with DS by surprise.

I have PCOS and had been told since I was 16 that I would have trouble getting pregnant because I NEVER ovulate. My mom has the same issues and it took her 8 years of trying before she had me so I was prepared for a long journey. I got married in September and decided to go off birth control in March just to see how my cycles were...In April got a BFP I prayed that it would happen in God's time and not mine and apparently it was time!!
no way at all. Im in remission from stage III Hodgkins and after have a vigerous round of chemotherapy AND having sever PCOS, I was told I had no chance of natural conception. 3 years of "not being careful", surprise surprise....
I went off BC in Jan and waited out the month to see how my cycles were going to be after being on it for almost 9 yrs. We totally thought that April's cycle was a bust because of our timing and me being oot during my fertile time. I guess the "you only need to do it once to get pregnant" statement is true.

We were "that couple" that never wanted to have children (I've never had a maternal interest in my LIFE). We had been planning our very large wedding for over two years, and I had to go off of my BCP because of another medication I was on and SURPRISE!!! (We'd been using other protection) We found out we were pregnant 2 months before our wedding. It definitely threw a wrench in our wedding/honeymoon plans...but we quickly went "oh crap we're pregnant" mode to "this is so so so cool". We announced the pregnancy at the end of our wedding and the room went absolutely bonkers!! It was by far the most amazing moment of our lives. Not a dry eye to be seen. And now we can't wait for January to come!!! Funny how quickly your line of thought changes.

This is going to sound strange but it was both... LOL
We were trying for 11 months without luck. Then my DH got a new job and we decided to just give it a little break so he could be there for at least a year to get paternity leave and it was getting too stressful and we didn't want it to become a chore that wasn't fun. Well then we conceived. So it ended up being a total surprise which I love
4 rounds of Clomid/Femara, estrogen/progesterone supplements, and 2-3 times weekly trips to Mombasa for monitoring appointment (4 hours roundtrip)...yeah, you could say we were trying.
We prayed and prayed and God answered our prayers in His time. We had to learn to worship WHILE we waited and we're so, so thankful that the Lord walked with us during that time.
Mama to a baby girl born 1/21/2012.
Currently back stateside but missing Kenya!
We were trying. I was very surprised at how quickly it happened. I was on depo for birth control and I thought we were in for the long haul since most women don't even get their period back for 6 months. I had mine back in 2 and got pregnant on our second cycle. I was honestly kinda hoping to have an April 2012 baby. It was a shock, but we are so thrilled.
Well gosh I feel like a loser posting, haha. I feel like I'm the baby of the January 2012 moms. I am 21 and my Fiance is 24, I have religiously been on BC since I was 17 and I would have never thought this would come so early in our lives. We got engaged Dec. 26, 2010 and knew from the beginning it would be a longer engagement than most due to the fact of us both being in our college years. Since the BFP we've never been so happy This was definitely NOT our plan but we feel so blessed and even though we are frowned upon by some for not being married or getting married before the LO arrives we are looking past this and trying to not let that get to us. It's a little sad for me to know the LO will have his last name before me (is that selfish?) but our "big day" will come soon enough

It was a TOTAL shock!! My FI and I had been seeing each other off and on for almost a year but had only been "officially" together for 4 months when we found out about the baby. We had already been talking about getting married next summer but decided to move the wedding up to this August instead. It was really important to us that we all three have the same last name on the birth certificate.

We had planned to start trying this summer, but decided over spring break to stop preventing and just see what happens (I didn't even know that date of my last period).
We had prepared ourselves for it to take months, years, if at all, because of some health issues I have.
Little did we know that the FIRST weekend it happened! Such an amazing surprise!!! I think of it as our little miracle baby
We got married April 9th also! Found out April 29 and were surprised. When we told people they laughed and said "we work fast". Congrats on your wedding and baby
We we were not "not trying". It took us a bit of time to conceive DS #1 so we figured we wouldn't prevent anything. So three months after giving birth the first time, it was a bit of a surprise.

A bit of both, but I said planned since it was maybe just a little early.
I came off Mirena IUD in February and wanted to wait a couple months to start. We were going to start TTC in June in hopes of a spring baby to work well with the school year (I'm a teacher). However, we were getting very antsy waiting to start TTC and we were out of condoms that night in Apri .
Same thing happened with DD#1. We were going to start TTC in July, I came off Depo in February and got a BFP in March.

We were going to wait until DS2 was out (or almost out) of preschool and then do 2u2 again.
He won't even be IN preschool when this LO arrives. Surprise!!

I had had a MC in March and then got pg with peanut in April. I took like 18 pg tests. I was so paranoid.
