Aw, sad part of my calendar...

I was glancing through the calendar my mom made for my first year (as referenced in my botw post) and this was the entry for when I was 7.5 months old (the same as Alexander)

"Awhile ago, someone put cyanide in some Tylenol capsules. Seven people were killed in Chicago.  As if that weren't bad enough, there are now many "copycats"--acid in mouthwash, pins in candy, razors in hotdogs.  What kind of world is this?  I hope things are better as you grow older.  I know you'll make it a better world."

I got all teary eyed reading that! I think my mom was really worried about me growing up in that kind of world!

So, what do you hope your child does to make the world a better place?

    Aw, that *is* sad! I still love that your mom made that for you... what an invaluable gift!

    I always say that I don't care what Miles does with his life, as long as he has a kind and compassionate heart. I think if you are equipped with that, you can't go wrong.

    Aww well said!  And that is a sad entry!  :(  People are sick... I just can't believe it!

    I'm pretty sure that is why my parents checked every single piece of candy I got at halloween. 
    I used to be a big deal.  Now I'm just old.
