how long before showing

I don't usually post over here, but I am 10wks5 days pregnant with twins after our fourth round of IVF. I have known many friends/co-workers who did not announce their singleton pregnancy until about 12/15 wks but I feel like you can see my expanding waist line a mile away. I have no idea how I am going to keep this for another few weeks. I still am wearing my regular clothes but they are definelty snug now, and no more skinny anything. This may be a dumb question but do twins show early, and is this normal for a twin pregnancy for real? I know my close friend always says "remember there is two" but I keep thinking yeah, but remember they are only prunes. Guess just feeling a bit crazy and anyone else feel short of breath? Thanks for all the help!

Every body is different. I started getting a belly around 16 weeks, my cousin who also had twins, started showing around 18 weeks.

I had more pudge at 16 weeks, but I looked like I was eating too much, not pregnant. I would say it was after 20 weeks that it rounded out and looked like a baby bump.

By 13 weeks, I was in all maternity pants and starting to show a bit. I could have worn my old pants, but it just wasn't comfy. People around the office were starting to guess, so I announced at that point.

We have never been ones to wait. I announced this pregnancy at 8 weeks I believe... before we even knew it was twins... Above is weeks 5-17 of my belly progression... 5,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17 weeks... I had a belly early... but I also did with all of my pregnancies.

Hiya! Welcome and yeah for lucky #4!

I didn't announce until 14 weeks and I was clearly showing (got my first stranger comment at 16w) - screw people who thought I was fat. If you are still in your regular pants I'd say you are good for a few weeks.

Short of breath definitely normal!

I didn't feel like I was really showing until today (13 wks)... I wore a snugger shirt and actually noticed a few strangers stare at my belly, so I think they were wondering. This is my 2nd pregnancy

As far as shortness of breath, I haven't had any yet, but I think I read that weeks 10-12 are the time of greatest increase in your blood supply, so it would make sense that you're a little out of breath w/ all that extra blood to oxygenate! It will also cause headaches. GL!

I just look like I have a beer gut so far, although bought my first pair of mat jeans on the weekend. So looking forword to actually looking pregnant. The girls I work with keep telling me I have a tummy, but it's just fat Sad

It all depends on your body. But I know I had a friend who did IVF and she was bloated from that so that could be part of it. I am of course pregnant with triplets and this is my second pregnancy but I was not really showing till 16 weeks and still only look fat not pregnant it is starting to look different now though at almost 19 weeks.

I'm 18 weeks, and I started wearing maternity pants or dresses (no more non-maternity pants) around 14 weeks, but that was really for comfort... I could have kept wearing others until about 15 or 16. Right now, it really depends on the day whether I look pregnant or like I had a really big lunch.

I was super bloated by 10wks its not baby showing at that point but lots of bloat! I just wore baggy shirts and layers to hide it as best I could. Once we were about 13 wks I couldnt comfortably hide it any longer esp with the warm weather. that is when we told everyone and from that point on I was way more comfy getting dressed not trying to hide the bump or bloat or whatever it was at that point lol I think twins do show earlier since we tend to measure 6-8wks in size further along than a singleton but early on its mainly bloat, I guess we may be more bloated than singletons too lol no idea but just keep finding baggy clothes and hang in there
