LFJ...You wouldn't go around telling everyone what your salary is, CS in hard real terms is an amount of money. So it's not really polite to be speaking in hard #'s.

It's a percentage of income. Plus since sometimes they don't take into account other children NOT getting support (ie those living w/ him) then she will get a higher amount. We always knew her child's father was a Therapist...we all go to counseling so we all know they make $65+ and hour so come on...you know she would be making bank on the CS.
Get over yourselves. Her child deserves CS just like your children do. And the Child derserves to have the same CS level as if the parents combined income would be just like your Children do. Just their income bracket is higher.
It's not a slap in the face. It is what it is. Would you all be saying it was a slap in the face if William Baldwin's ex wife came on here and wanted support but mentions how much Billy Baldwin paid in CS? No you expect she would be getting it b/c we all know how much approximately movie stars are worth.
Now...if you want some real fun go over to the blended family's board and flame the GF who is complaining that her BF that KHTFU, has to pay $1000/month for 3 children and 1 isn't really his b/c he adopted her. but still has to pay CS for her and took a PFA guilty plea against the ex when EVERYONE knows she was lying.

I agree Sweetie. She just happened to have a baby with someone that makes good money which means that she may get a nice amount in child support. ITA that it sucks that the people who unwittingly found themselves in crappy situations are left with nothing and have to stuggle to move forward.
EX-H happened to fall into an excellent job after being unemployed for a year. I was awarded a nice amount of child support. I only got it for 4 months. We are in the process of garnishing, but considering how well he holds down jobs I won't be getting it for long, if the garnishment ever goes through.
OP, if you do get what you are thinking you will get, be very careful. While having the extra money coming in is nice, NEVER, NEVER count on it being there every month. The last thing you want is for him to stop paying and you are left in a bind because you were depending on that money to survive.
This is what I was trying to say, but of course as always you say it so much better.
We all know that no matter how much we struggle, there is someone who struggles more. It doesn't mean we have less of a right to vent about our own problems.
I don't think anyone here was saying they don't understand why she is getting the amount she is.
But she went about it all wrong.
