TTC After a Loss

~?*??*?~Ladies In Waiting Check In~?*??*?~

This is a group designed for all the ladies in the various stages of waiting after a loss: waiting to miscarry, waiting for AF to arrive, waiting to TTC again, and waiting for a BFP. Since this process is such a true test in patience, it is nice to have the support and friendship of other women going through similar experiences and emotions. Check in every Tuesday and Thursday.

New members: Post an introduction and your current TTC status and I will add you to the list! Welcome :-)

Current members: Post your updates, link to your chart, upcoming appointments, prayer requests, and if you get a BFP, please feel free to post here (along with your EDD).

There will be a question, a place for prayer request, and an inspirational quote and verse. I look forward to getting to know you.

Re: ~?*??*?~Ladies In Waiting Check In~?*??*?~

  • I'm currently waiting to O.  I should be doing so in a couple of days and hoping this cycle is it!  If not, it's back to the RE for another plan of action.

QOTD: I've learned to stand up for myself and let people know what they say isn't cool or funny.

    5/16/2005: M/C at 7 wks
    5/3/2010: MM/C at 7 wks 6 days
    5/25/2014: CP at 4 wks 3 days

Because of the great "Snow"vember of 2015, my medicated cycle was cancelled.  However, we were blessed with our little rainbow baby due on 8/14/15!  Baby J had other plans and decided to make his grand ole entrance on 7/4/2015!

Surprise!  Our little girl entered this world on 12/8/2016 after her eviction notice was long past due.  Our little turkey baby turned into a snow baby!

  • Hi!  I'm currently waiting to test or for AF to rear her ugly nasty face.  I promised myself not to test early this cycle.  I"m 10 dpo and getting anxious.

Have you ever done something you thought you could never do? (We sometimes can surprise ourselves...)

I never thought I could interrupt a pregnancy.  We did all the early testing with Brendan thinking, its not really going to change our decision to carry to term and raise a child with special needs.  I remember walking out of our 2nd opinion appointment and still thinking that, knowing how severe of a case of spina bifida our baby had.  It wasn't until we went for a 3rd opinion with a pedi neurosurgeon and fetal MRI, and hearing "not compatible with life" sunk in.  CTT would have been purely selfish on my part.  So DH and I decided to take on the emotional pain of saying goodbye, so our son would not endure any pain at all.

Phew that was tough to write!

  • I'm waiting to O on our very first cycle of TCCAL! On CD5 right now and very excited/nervous/anxious to get this show on the road. Mostly I'm so freaking happy to be done with TTA and stupid condoms.

QOTD: I ran a full marathon in 2008 and definitely had my doubtful moments during my long training and on race day. And if you would have asked me a few years before that if I would ever voluntarily run for over 4 hours, I would have laughed at you. Of course, once it was all over I couldn't wait to do it again and have done 2 halves since, but never another full. Perhaps someday...

  • Waiting to O.  I am pretty confident I will soon, I've been having O cramps and buckets of EWCM- most ever since beginning TTC!!  Wahoo!  I am trying to wait for 43 more minutes so I can POAS to see if I can catch my LH surge.

QOTD:  I am a boring, predictable planner.  However, a couple of years before getting married, I decided I was going to stop 'waiting for my life to start' (meet a man, get married, buy a house then have kids) so I bought my first house, all by myself Smile

  • Still waiting for my first AF..... blah

On top of that I now have a UTI and nice new prescription Zanex... compliments of my mini meltdown in my primary doctors office this afternoon.

If that wasn't bad enough (possible TMI), I also think there is something going on in the vag department.  All day today I have had clumps of this jelly-like substance that is grayish-brown.  Really weird.  Maybe old tissue still???  I don't know.  But I can see an OB visit in my future if this doesn't clear up.

QOTD:  I bought a home..After apartment living my whole life and always having money issues growing up, I was able to save and buy my home.  It was a very big accomplishment for me and my DH.

Our baby boy,Logan, was born still at 19w3d on 7/1/2011
Our 2nd baby boy, Mason, was born still at 20w3d on 1/31/2012

  • In the 2WW, and nervous/excited/somewhat fearful that I'm feeling EXACTLY like I was at this point in my CP cycle.  Had a huge temp spike today, but I think it's too early to get excited about that...

QOTD: Right before I got married, I did a 20 hour (each way) road trip by myself all in one day to visit a good friend.  It's just something I felt like I needed to do before I was "tied down," and I'm so thankful I did!

  • After six and a half weeks I am finally no longer waiting for my first AF, as she arrived this morning. One more cycle and then we will be TTC. Hopefully in September. QOTD: similar to Buckeye, I decided to take my own life into my hands and got myself a dog and a condo. I had to work two jobs for a while, but it felt very good to buy my own first place.

  • Hi Everyone-

May I join you?  I have been posting on here for a few weeks now...but have not been part of the Ladies in Waiting...a little background on me...I am 34, live in Maine and DH and I have four furbabies...two boxers and two cats.  We started TTC in May, got BFP on the first try...I was sick as a dog the whole time...went in for our 1st ultrasound at 9 wk5d and there was no heartbeat.  The tech thought she saw a second sac, and wasn't sure if one or both pregnancies were viable...so we had to wait the weekend (HELL ON EARTH) to go see a specialist in portland that has more advanced equipment.  Come to find out, there was only one LO after all, but it was confirmed that there was no heartbeat and she had passed at about 9 weeks. Of course completely heartbroken...I ended up opting for the D&C and went in the next day (6/21)  The surgery went fine....the results from the lab came back that the baby had Turner's Syndrome...which occurs only in girls (which was another shock...to know what we could have/would have/should have had)...and it means there is one x chromosome missing.  We went to talk to a genetic counselor and it is one of those very common, random chromosome abnormalities. Only 1% of babies with Turner's makes it to birth and then has various physical issues to deal with.  We are still heartbroken, and although I am scared out of my head, we are waiting to TTC again.  We feel the pressure of time where I am 34 and DH will be 38...and DH has a 14 year old daughter (my now stepdaughter)...but, we are following my OB's orders of waiting three cycles before TTC.  I have just finished cycle #1.

I have been posting on this board for awhile now after spending quite a lot of time on mc/l...but found I was ready to move on and join you ladies . Everyone on here has been awesome and you all crack me up on a daily basis..which is totally way I need as I face the terrifying, exciting, crazy task of TTCAL.   So, for now we are waiting to TTC...a couple more months at least.

As for the QOTD:  Like a previous poster, I think that the thing(s) that I did that I never thought I could do was buy a house on my own (well, a condo) after being tired of waiting around for life to start...so I said screw it and went ahead on my own.  Of course I met DH two years later, the condo was way to small, we bought a new house, rent the condo and desperately want to get rid of it in a market that sucks.  Anyway, I also did a half marathon three or four years ago and never, ever thought that would ever happen.

Sorry so long...and TIA for having me!

  • (Still fairly new here, and haven't been around much the last week.  Summers are really busy for my husband and I, but I'm hoping to be around a lot more soon.)

I'm still waiting for HCG to drop.  This is week 15 after mc... Getting frustrated, but my level dropped in half from my last bloodwork a week ago, which is pretty good for me.  I'm hoping to be at zero by the end of the month.

QOTD:  Something I did that I never thought was possible was run a half marathon.  I am hoping to do a full marathon sometime soon, but we will see.

  • Hello! My name is Jessica and I am waiting to finish miscarrying. I had an ultrasound at 9 weeks on Friday and the baby did not have a heartbeat and was only measuring 8 weeks. DH and I were devastated and spent most of the weekend mourning and holding each other. I have started to m/c naturally, although it is very painful - physically and emotionally.

This was our second pregnancy (first ended in a chemical pregnancy early aroun 5 weeks). We have had no take home babies.

We will get through this m/c and enjoy a couple planned vacations this month and then discuss TTC again.

I'm so glad this board is here!

  • Hi Everyone!  Still waiting one more cycle.  I am hoping for AF#2 next week so we can start TTC again.  I am pretty sure I O'd last week so I am thinking I am on track!

QOTD: I moved out of the house and up to college all on my own when I was younger.  My family wanted me to stay home and I had been home forever.  However, I decided I needed to get out and experience my own life so I moved about 2.5 hours away from home and lived off campus.  It was very scary but I am glad I did it because it taught me so much about when I needed to move out after college!

Hi!  O'd last Tues so now in 2WW at 7dpo.  Temped a few days since O, but not making it a priority - still hoping for the 'not worrying, relaxing' pulls out a bfp this cycle.

Today was my EDD.  It's been a weird day for me.  And a rough month.  I found out my coccyx is broken and I had to say goodbye to my cat Toby last week.

Currently waiting to O and hoping this will be my month.

I've been thinking about you today. ((huge hugs))

  • Hey ladies! What inspiring responses. Thank you coreysmom for all your hard work!

Not much new here...waiting to O.

As far as accomplishments...well there are two obvious ones. I am proud of myself for participating in a fundraiser for Best Buddies and organization for individuals with developmental disabilities and for my work with the DD population in general. My masters degree... marrying my HS sweetheart...hmmm...but the biggest life changing thing that I am most proud of is leaving my career to be stay at home. It went against everything that I thought I stood for and everything that I always thought I wanted. But honestly there is no greater joy then what I am doing right now. Alot of people criticized our decision but I could care less. There is not enough money in all the world to convince me otherwise. I think that God loves risk takers and that when we take a leap of faith in whatever it is that he has called us to do, he blesses us more then we could have ever imagined. Granted my road to motherhood has been paved with many tears, it has been worth it!
