I have a few weeks off before baby #2 arrives and I want to take advantage of this time off and spend it with my two year old since I'm usually working FT (and hate dealing with crowds on the weekends). Looking for suggestions on things we should take advantage of. Some things I'm already planning:
Local weekday kid concerts, baltimore aquarium, national history museum, maybe the zoo again
Any other "not to miss" geared to a two year old? Thanks!
Re: Local "must dos" with 2 year old
Where are you located and what is your kiddo interested in?
C is obsessed with airplanes and had a grand old time at the College Park Aviation Museum. It's the perfect size for toddlers and there was hardly anyone there when we went.
Wheaton Regional Park with the carousel and train is another idea. Or the butterfly house at Brookeside Gardens.
Clemenjontri Park
Oxon Hill Farm
Mount Vernon
Reston Zoo
Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens
I'm personally really excited to take my daughter to the Reston waterpark.

I have friends with little ones who have been and love it. Also, hubby and I are planning a daytrip to Sesame Park in Pennsylvania. Looks like SO much fun!
Some great ideas, thanks and keep 'em coming!
I'm in the Fairfax area.
Wolf Trap Theater in the Woods (I would definitely consider this one a "must-do" over all the others I listed)
Reston Zoo
Frying Pan Park
Clemyjontri Park
Ticonderoga Farms
Burke Lake Park
Pick-your-own fruit - depending on when you go and what is in season. I like Butler's Orchard in Germantown, MD. You would just have to plan around traffic.
Watermine Water Park in Reston
ETA: Prince William County Fair (FFX isn't as good). Also, check out Our Kids at www.our-kids.com for things to do by subject in the DC area. It's an awesome resource.
In addition to what others have mentioned, you can make a trip to a spray park or splahshground (free). My son loves them, such as the one at Lee District park in Alexandria.
Also, the playseum in Bethesda.
DD's favorites:
The Reston Zoo
The National Arboretum
Cabin John Park (they have a train and a cool playground)
Drew Park Sprayground
The National Building Museum
