intro and a ?

Hi everyone!  I got my BFP a little over a week ago and believe that I am due 3/26ish.  I don't have my first appointment for a few more weeks but this is my second so I am a little less concerned/anxious than I was last time.  Everyone on this board seems so supportive and positive and I am glad to be joining you ladies!

 My question is for people with a lot of food aversions.  I have absolutely no appetite and no food seems even remotely appealing to me now.  What are you guys eating?  I am having trouble taking my prenatals because if I take them on an empty stomach I immediately vom but thinking of food makes me feel sick also.  Any suggestions are appreciated!  TIA

  • I had a real bad week or more of no appetite and terrible m/s. I didn't even want to think about food until I started to feel like I was starving, and even then it was hard to find something I actually wanted. I'm still nauseous most days, but it really hasn't been as bad. When it was bad I ate a bowl of Litpon Noodle Soup and some crackers. I felt like a new woman. Now I only want carbs, like pasta or potato soup (which I'm making today). I can't wait until this passes. As for prenatals, I take mine before bed after eating a few crackers.

  • Welcome and congrats!  I feel the same way...The nasuea is just horrible...  I have been eating a lot of carbs, like crackers and bread.  Besides that I cant stomach anything!  
  • I am in the same boat... trying to find something to eat has become a chore.  To be honest about the only things I can eat are things that are really bland..  I have been living off of cereal and pancakes, with a popcicle here and there.

  • You will have to stick with bland foods.  I've been eating PB&J and whole wheat english muffins with butter & jelly.  All I can eat without being sick.

  • My body is all about food aversions right now.  I am sticking to cards - bread, crackers, etc.  I had Ritz crackers with PB for dinner last night and I've been eating cereal a lot with very little milk.

  • The things I've been able to eat are: cereal (my life saver) apples, sometimes bananas and oranges.. as far as carbs, I've been able to eat potatoes: french fries, tater tots, potato wedges. One thing that also helped me is ginger snaps. Ginger is a natural stomach settler, and you can use them instead of crackers too.

  • Thanks everyone! I have been drinking a ton of water and ginger ale.  I will definitely try some of your food suggestions and see how it goes.
