1st Little one

Is there anyone in here that is on there 2nd or 3rd kiddo that can just answer some questions for me this being my first time and I haven't been in to see my Doctor yet for my first Ultra sound .... I had and IUI done so I know that my ovulation date is and all of that good stuff and that my weeks are right on but I didn't know how long until you can hear or see a heartbeat and or see how many there may be ? then I know that you don't find out the gender for quite some time but I wasn't 100% sure on around what week that is either :o) Thanks for the help !!!

    You probably won't hear the heartbeat until around 11 or 12 weeks unless you get an early ultrasound. When you get an ultrasound all depends on your doctor. They typically don't do anatomy scans until 20 weeks but you could probably find out as early as 16 weeks. Any other questions and just ask!

    Thank you so much :o) I appreciate it I just never thought my IUI would work the first go around so I slacked on the baby books guess I better get on that huh :o)

    Also you should be able to "see" a flicker of a heartbeat around 6 weeks via an ultrasound but not hear it via ultrasound until 8-9 weeks.  Good luck!

    Your RE should do an early ultrasound... You should start to see a heartbeat at around six weeks.

    Perfect thank you I just called her and she said I could do that and just go in every week and keep getting my blood and progesterone drawn to make sure things are going good since we paid all OOP for our IUI she wants to make sure I'm monitored well so thank goodness for caring RE's :o)

    Congrats and welcome! I first heard the heartbeat (on a doppler) at my 9 week appointment. You will have an ultrasound around 18 weeks that can confirm the gender.

    Congrats! I had my first IUI the day before you did and I got a BFP this cycle too. I have my 1st ultrasound on 8/15/11, which is about 6 and a half weeks. My RE said that I should be able to see the heartbeat by then.
