Stroller questions

Hi all,

I'm new to this board (so, hi!) and figured this might be a good place to ask a few things about strollers.  My son is 5 1/2 months and we are way late to the stroller party.  I'm still using my Maclaren snap and go and it's definitely time to move on up to the next thing.  We are going to check out strollers this wkend at Galt Baby (unless anyone has a better suggestion?) but thought if yall had any advice I could arm myself with in advance, that would be great.

I won't be jogging with it but I'd like one that is great on the city sidewalks (we go for tons of walks) and will be great on the snow as well.  I'm 5'4" and my husband is 6'6" so if anyone knows of a brand with adjustable handles (if that even exists), I'd love to know about it.  Finally, the lighter and easier to maneuver and fold-up, the better.  Any advice is greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Re: Stroller questions

  • I've heard great things about Baby Jogger strollers, particularly the City Mini and City Select.  We will be having baby #2 in the fall and the City Select has a second seat kit, so it can convert back and forth from a single stroller to a double stroller with ease.  If you're thinking about having more than one child, you may want to think about the Select.  The City Mini is lighter but also sturdy and both strollers fold really easily.  I have a Maclaren Techno XT currently for my 2yo, but I need something sturdier now, so I'm going with the Select.  Good luck at Galt!

  • We have the City Select and although I'm waiting to use it (if this baby ever makes his appearance) I have a lot of friends that love it. I've had a lot of fun with all the possible configurations. The handle is also adjustable, which I was looking for because of the height difference between my husband and I. It's not the lightest, but it's incredibly sturdy. The citi mini would also be worth checking out.

  • I love our Mountain Buggy Swift! It has an adjustable handle, is fairly light, and is a lot slimmer than other models out there, making it perfect for city use. I believe it has bigger wheels than the City Baby Jogger models, but not huge ones like the BOB, and can handle snow and slush easily. You should look into for sure!
  • I've heard wonderful things about the BOB! Everyone that has one, swears by it... it's a little expensive, but if you're looking for the cadillac of strollers I would check it out
