Not kidding, my mom and I were walking down the side walk and there was a eye hook screwed into the cement. I walked right into it. Full force. I've never been in so much pain in my life. I can't even walk, I kind of limp and can drag my foot on my heel.
Its totally swollen and purple, and I can't move my toes at all no matter how hard I try.
I've never broken anything, but I called my OB and asked her if I should go to the hospital and see if its actually broken. She said they won't do anything most likely because I'm still so early on in pregnancy they won't do an xray, so they might just cast it blindly if they think it looks bad enough. But I don't want a cast. I'm thinking of just waiting it out, if its still bad in a week I'll go.
Does it sound broken?
Re: I think I broke my foot
I might see if the swelling goes down tonight after some tylenol and sleep and maybe its just jammed. But I kind of have a feeling its not. I've jammed my toe before and this is the worst I've ever felt
Thanks Squish. It kind of feels like hitting your funny bone. But worse, and constant pain.
Did you get the PM I sent you ?
I did, thanks again!!
No problem!
I hurt my foot about three weeks ago. At first I tried 'walking it off' and just seeing if it would be okay... it happened on a Friday and by Monday I went to the doc. They gave me a figure-8 aircast to stabilize my foot and ankle, and crutches. : They suck. I was told it's okay to get an x-ray as long as you're wearing a lead apron, but regardless they wanted me to wait until 4 weeks post-injury to x-ray. I guess when it's fresh they can't see small fractures, but later they can by the calcification. HTH.
In the meantime, alternate icepacks (20 min at a time) and warm water with espom salt in it. That should decrease the swelling some.
