Bad bleeding, and sent home from the ER.

This is my 3rd pregnancy. My first two were perfect, no problems or scares at all. Just smooth sailing. I'm seven weeks right now, and yesterday morning woke up to brown bloody discharge. It continued slowly all day yesterday. But, when i woke up this morning, it was more red, and coming out in gushes. I went to the ER this morning, had blood and urine work done, which came back fine. I also had 2 ultrasounds while i was there. Baby looked great and heart rate was perfect. However, when they did my vaginal exam, they pulled out tons of blood clots and cleaned out a huge amount of blood. Oh, my cervix, is closed! which is great news. But the bleeding is really concerning me, and the doctor seemed worried but still sent me home. It is now coming out way more and much more red than ever. I dont know what to do. I am so scared that i will have a miscarriage. Has anyone else has this happen?

    If it is getting worse and you're scared go back to the ER.  T&P to you.

    I would also definitely call your dr. and see what they say.

    A friend of mine had the same issues. She had a subchorionic hematoma that caused a miscariage at 12 weeks. Please follow up with your OB tomorrow. Good luck and I will keep you in my prayers.

    Thank you ladies! I called the nurse, and she told me its basically a waiting game. Which doesnt exactly bring me any comfort. But i do have an appointment with my midwife tomorrow, so i will keep you updates. This is just so scary.

    Yes.  And it was totally fine, DD is sitting next to me right now eating bananas.  I had a subchorionic hematoma, it was pretty much exactly what you described, but they couldn't find it until I was 10 weeks via ultrasound, although it started at 8 weeks.  It was so scary, lots of blood, but the baby is fine.  I was put on bed rest, told to drink a TON of water, not to exercise or lift anything more than 10 lbs., take a little extra vitamin C, etc.  Mine cleared up by week 18, most clear by week 20.  I would talk to your doctor to see if that is possibly what it is, if it is, it is scary but (for the baby) almost always not a big deal.

    I had that with my DD.  Lots of heavy bleeding & clots every few months or so throughout the entire pregnancy.  Had to keep going back to the ER.  They couldn't figure out what it was but everything turned out to be fine.

    So, i went back to the doctors today and my cervix is still closed, which iis great news. They did another u/s and the baby is measuring at 6 weeks when im almost 8, and the beans heart rate is low, and so is my blood pressure. Im on bed rest for the next 2 weeks, and have to go back for another u/s on friday. I hope the baby holds in there.
