March 2011 Moms

I don't know how I feel about all this....

I work 12 hour shifts, 9a-9:30/10pm, in the ER.  When I work 2 days in a row, I really don't see much of DS.  This was my weekend to work, and my mom was gracious enough to keep him last night for us.  This morning she brings him down, and it's like he's grown up over night!  He's *really* discovered his feet, sitting up more on his own, and rolling over like crazy.  TWO DAYS I was gone!  That's it!  And all of this started.  Crazy!

  • I know, it does suck! I work 7pm-7am so I don't miss as much though. DD goes to bed around 10 or 11. I work 2 nights a week. Working nights has a whole other set of problems though, especially since I am the one who watches her when I get home from work. Working sucks!

  • I know exactly what you mean too!  I've worked 7a-7p weekend option which is every Saturday and Sunday for the last two years.  It really does seem like they change so much in just that short time span.  Now I work Friday and Saturday nights 7p-7a and I like it so much better!  I don't feel like I miss as much working nights.  I leave right before they go to bed then get home just as they are getting up so they never realize I'm gone.  I'm lucky to have an awesome DH who agrees to do alternating schedules to avoid daycare.
