Girl or Boy?

I love the name Sydney for a girl....I would never name my son Sydney but my SO says he does not like it bc its a boy/unisex name. Hmmmm What do you think?

It can be either - but I'd prefer it for a girl. I think it's more common to be a girl name nowadays.

I know it can be used for either a boy or a girl, but I've only known one boy names Sidney, and six or seven girls, with a mixture of both spellings.

Sydney is a girl name to me, and (I hate to say this, but) has always reminded me of saying Cindy with a stuffy nose.

I know three people with the name Sydney. One is a 40 year old man the other two are 8 year old girls. I always think of the name as feminine. If you love it go with it!! :-)

My daughter's name is Sydney and no one has ever seen her name on paper and thought she was a boy. People do sometimes think we are saying "Cindy", but it's no big deal and we get tons of complements on her name!
