We have a few of the snap version of the BG 4.0s. I'm getting ready to prep them for use. When you wash them, do you snap the diaper together? Or do you have all the snaps undone and wash it like that? (Obviously, wash the inserts separately outside of the diaper). Also, for BG users, I know you aren't supposed to use diaper cream in conjunction with BG diapers. What do you do when your baby has a diaper rash? How do you treat it? TIA!
Re: BG 4.0 Questions
Unsnapped. Saves wear and tear on the snaps and fabric around them.
And CJs BUTTer, it's amazing!
Wash unsnapped, inserts out.
Buy a cloth diaper friendly rash cream (ex: grandma el's or cj butter)
You need this for diaper rashes with any cloth diaper, not just BG.
If you choose to use a regular rash cream, you just need to create a barrier between your baby's butt and the diaper; for example, a cloth wipe or fleece diaper liner.
This! DD has only had very mild rashes (we've used CDs since birth), and CJ's eliminated them completely after one use.

FYI-You don't need to unsnap. Miss Cotton babies herself-Jenn posted this in the blog once and I remembered because I use 4.0s also.
ETA: I went back and reread your post-I thought you were talking about the snap downs. I wouldn't even think to wash it closed up.

Do you guys love the BG 4.0 and the inserts that come with it?
