PSA: Beco Butterfly for $99!

Some of the designs are on clearance at tendercargo.com:

https://www.tendercargo.com/catalog/Beco-Butterfly-Baby-Carrier.html

This is BY FAR the best carrier I've tried (and it's regularly $140!) - so comfortable, great b/c it works with infants through toddlers, pretty fabrics, easy to adjust, etc.  I love it more than my ergo (which I found very comfortable) b/c I can put DS in it, then "swing" him up onto my back - also like that I can undo the waist belt and he's still secure in the carrier (nice for trips to the bathroom!)

Guess there's a 2.0 version coming out that has a removable infant insert - this version has it sewn in (I've never found it to be a problem, and actually like that it's a permanent part of the carrier - less for me to lose!)

  • I wish I didn't see this post.  It makes me want to cry at the extra $41 I spend to get mine, which I've only used a few times because C is too heavy and now I"m pregnant so I'm waiting to use it with #2 Boo.  Broken Heart How's that for a run-on whine?

  • So tempting, but I think I am going to wait until closer to this baby's birth to buy one (and pay the extra $40.)  What do you think the advantage is going to be with having the insert removeable?
  • Oh, I hear ya!!!! I'm in the EXACT same boat :(  Used it a handful of times with DS before getting pregnant, and now just have to wait another 5-6 months before getting to use it again with #2.

I just about cried when I saw it on sale...

Oh, if it makes you feel better, we only overspent by $40... I over-quoted the price by a dollar - it's regularly $139 - LOL!

Angry  I keep telling myself it was worth every penny, even full price - argh!

  • Lu-Lu - I'd guess the advantage would be less bulk between the carrier and DC?  Honestly, I've never been bothered by the removable insert (and actually like that it's not removable b/c I'd probably manage to lose it!)  I didn't read the entire blog entry, but if you go to the tender cargo website, they have a full blog entry about it... (look on the right side of the main page for blog entries).

Oh, and they're also having $5 off $20 Babylegs sale... (in case anyone wanted more Babylegs - lol)

  • Yeah, I really don't see the value in having the insert be removable.  It's so thin, I don't even notice it in there.  Like you said, just one more thing to lose!  I really don't know how they could improve on the carrier, it is that good.  I just sent the link to one of my play group mom friends who is in the market for a beco!  Right Hug

  • That's what I got mine for!  And free shipping from Babysnazz.com!
  • Man, I sure wish I had the extra cash for one of these.  I have an Ergo, but have always wanted to try the Beco Butterfly.....sigh.....
  • Sum - dig up the $$ somehow - they are sooo comfortable! LOL.  I was able to sell my gently used ergo for a decent price (they have pretty good resale value, actually) and put the money toward my new beco.  :)
  • They had them at mamabargains last week for 65!  I was too slow but maybe they will have them again?
