Re: GTKY... and your m/s

  • Do you have m/s? sporadicallyWhen does it occur? any timeIs it limited to nausea only, some dry heaving, or full on throwing up? nausea.  I haven't thrown up yet.  I do gag sometimes. How has it affected your appetite? When I am experiencing it, my appetite is awful, of course.  Or I'll force myself to eat half of a meal and then I feel nauseated by the rest of it.What makes it better? acupuncture and acupressure.  Eating small meals.

  • Do you have m/s?  Yes Sad

When does it occur? All day every day

Is it limited to nausea only, some dry heaving, or full on throwing up? So far nausea only but most of the time I feel like I could puke at any second.

How has it affected your appetite? I don't really want to eat, but it gets worse if I don't. I've found if I keep something in my stomach at all times it's about half as bad. I eeat something every half an hour.

What makes it better? See above. I just ordered sea bands and preggie drops from amazon. I also will takes the advice of other bumpies and eat some crackers before I get out of bed in the morning because that's when it's the worst.

  • Do you have m/s? Yes.

When does it occur? Starts in the afternoon and goes until I go to bed.

Is it limited to nausea only, some dry heaving, or full on throwing up? All three. I throw up pretty frequently. Thanks to that, I'm at 8 lbs lost. My concern is that because I'm diabetic, I take insulin before meals. Because sometimes my food is coming up before I've had a chance to digest, I'm ending up with low blood sugars. I'm working with my endo on this.

How has it affected your appetite? I don't eat much. I try to eat well in the morning, because I'm okay after that.

What makes it better? I've found nothing that works, yet.

  • Do you have m/s? Yes, on and off.

When does it occur?Anytime really, even though my husband said, "Mo, it's morning sickness" when I said I had it last night. Had to re-educate him on that one.

Is it limited to nausea only, some dry heaving, or full on throwing up? Mostly nausea, but the first day it hit I was throwing up a few times. I also find brushing my teeth in the morning causes me to dry heave.

How has it affected your appetite? Yes, I'm finding something just do not sound good at all! Like the burrito I brought for lunch today. :(

What makes it better? Usually sipping on water, or ginger ale. Snacking on something little.

  • Do you have m/s? some. not overly bad yet

When does it occur? about an hour after waking up to early afternoon

Is it limited to nausea only, some dry heaving, or full on throwing up? just nausea at this point but I think it will become throwing up. Have come close a few times.

How has it affected your appetite? I have to eat as soon as I wake up and little snacks/meals throughout the day or else I feel worse. A lot of things just aren't sounding yummy right now

What makes it better? peppermint candies. Not the artificially flavored but with real peppermint oil. Soon as I start to feel queasy, I pop one and it, for the most part, keeps it away. I waited too long yesterday and almost threw up, candy and all.

  • Do you have m/s? Most definitely.

When does it occur? Its finally slowing down to once a day instead of all day every day.

Is it limited to nausea only, some dry heaving, or full on throwing up? Mostly just nausea. I have vomited a handful of times but mostly I lay around thinking that if only I could vomit, I'd feel a little better.

How has it affected your appetite? Up until last week, it was causing me to seriously limit what I was eating. I was surviving on ginger tea, ginger ale and saltine crackers.

What makes it better? Keeping my stomach full. Even if I'm only snacking on a few apple slices, it helps to have something in my stomach. Also, eating before I take my prenatal vitamins seems to make a big difference.

  • Do you have m/s? Yes

When does it occur? As my nephew says "Every all day"

Is it limited to nausea only, some dry heaving, or full on throwing up? It's a mix of the three, usually only nausea, but in the evening I throw up sometimes.

How has it affected your appetite? Most of the time, it makes me not want to eat at all, but on rare occasions it makes me starving.

What makes it better? Soda, saltines, and tic tacs

  • Do you have m/s?  Yep...

    When does it occur?
About an hour or two before I get up until midday.  Then sporadically in the evening.

Is it limited to nausea only, some dry heaving, or full on throwing up?
So far just brutal nausea.  But I've gagged a few times, so I think vomiting is on its way...

How has it affected your appetite?
I am pretty much living on granola bars and peanut butter toast.

    What makes it better?
Nibbling constantly throughout the day and drinking REALLY cold sparkling water.

  • Do you have m/s? yeah

When does it occur? any time, but mostly in the mornings

Is it limited to nausea only, some dry heaving, or full on throwing up? As of this morning, all three!  I actually threw up about half an hour ago- no food, just the phlegm I swallowed in my sleep last night.

How has it affected your appetite? I don't want to eat anything when I feel nauseous because I feel like it's going to make it worse.

    What makes it better?

Eating!  I just force myself to eat something- usually a few crackers or ginger snaps, then after a few minutes, I can eat a small meal and that seems to help.

  • Do you have m/s?  Yes.

When does it occur?  All day.

Is it limited to nausea only, some dry heaving, or full on throwing up?  Mostly just nausea, but a little dry heaving.

How has it affected your appetite?  Nothing sounds good.  Nothing.

What makes it better?   I'm not sure if anything makes it totally better.  Keeping crackers in my stomach makes it a little better, but not much.  The one night I took Benadryl before bed for my back (it's a muscle relaxer), I woke up feeling a little better.

ETA: About 5 mins after I wrote this, I coughed really hard and that was the end of the no throwing up for me....on the upside, my stomach feels better for the first time in a while...

  • Yesssssssss....

My m/s is all day but it kinda comes in waves of severity.  When it's really bad I will puke but mostly I just lay around kinda feeling "green".

I don't "want" to eat anything but if I eat, I feel better... seriously.  Keeping something on my stomach is the only thing that has really helped.

  • Do you have m/s? Ugh.

When does it occur? It has pretty well taken over my life.

Is it limited to nausea only, some dry heaving, or full on throwing up? Severe nausea and some dry heaving. I've only thrown up a little here and there.

How has it affected your appetite? I'm really limited as to what I can eat. Nothing sounds good and the thought of most food makes me gag.

What makes it better? Nothing really. I have been trying to eat a small amount to always have something in my stomach, but if the nausea is in full swing, there's nothing I can do to stop it.

  • Do you have m/s?  Oh, boy yes.

When does it occur?  Apparently - all day, every day.  At least, depends on the day.

Is it limited to nausea only, some dry heaving, or full on throwing up?  Mostly nausea, but I went through three or four days last week of throwing up and dry heaving.

How has it affected your appetite?  It's really hard to eat when the nausea sets in, and it sets in before I get hungry.  I've had to really take steps to eat far more often than I have - and especially not give in first thing in the morning.

What makes it better?  I got some drugs, and they help a little, but not so much on an empty stomach.  (They really just make me sleep through it more than anything else, but when I wake up four hours later, it's as bad as when I took the pill initially.)  Mostly, I just have to eat some simple foods on a regular basis before attempting anything better.  Stuff like apples, rice, cheerios, crackers, milk (or at least so I pretend), etc, tend to be fairly easy.  Oh, and no straight cold water.  Nothing's guaranteed to make me puke faster than straight water.  Probably because I kept sipping it at work last week while I was nauseous and dry heaving up the whazoo.

  • Do you have m/s? Yes

What makes it better? eating all the time- SMALL snacks- meds, and sucking on sour candy- especially jolly ranchers

  • Do you have m/s? Ugh!

When does it occur? It flip flopped. It used to be at night until bedtime. Now I just wake up feeling horrible until bedtime.

Is it limited to nausea only, some dry heaving, or full on throwing up? It's pretty much nausea. But it gets to be pretty bad and have gagged a few times, so close to throwing up.

How has it affected your appetite? I'm finding it harder to eat because nothing sounds good AT ALL!

What makes it better? Eating small meals and cold water.

  • Do you have m/s? Yes

When does it occur? The earlier in the morning the worse it is. It usually lasts until around noon and sometimes come back between 4 and 6.

Is it limited to nausea only, some dry heaving, or full on throwing up? Mostly nausea. I dry heave every day in the morning, but I've only thrown up once.

How has it affected your appetite? I definitely can't eat as much, and when I do eat I have to run it through a check system. I think about different foods until one of them doesn't make my stomach turn.

What makes it better? Coca-Cola, though I only had it on the day I threw up because I cut out caffeine.

Is it limited to nausea only, some dry heaving, or full on throwing up?  All of the above.

How has it affected your appetite?  Yep.  I am never hungry.  I eat because it makes it somewhat better.

What makes it better?  Last pregnancy, I was able to control it with unisom and B6.  However, this time I am on zofran.  After a 2 day stint of throwing up constantly, I cried uncle and called my OB for a Rx.  I still feel nauseous but nothing compared to the complete annihilation before.
