S/O menus

I got a good deal on some ground chicken and I'm looking for new ideas... anyone? What would YOU do with it?

  • I loved these BBQ chicken burgers.

I also have made a knock-off recipe of the PF Changs lettuce wraps w/ ground chicken. They kind of call for a lot of ingredients though... so it might negate the good deal you got on the chicken! We love them though, so now that I have everything on hand I can make them whenever. If you are interested, just google it... there are tons and tons of recipes. I just read a few, and made up my own version. I've done them w/ both ground chicken, and chicken breasts (cut up in really small pieces)

Where did you get a good deal on ground chicken? It's always so $$$!

Our Target (Orchard Park) just added a grocery section so they had lots of good deals. They had the 1lb packages of Perdue Ground chicken on sale for $2

good to know... I'll have to check out my Target too. Was it a "special today" type sale? Or just a regular weekly sale item?

  • I think part of their weekly sale but this was on Saturday

  • Ew, ground chicken is so blah! lol Whatever you do with it, make sure you make it flavorful!
FWIW, Walmart always has the Perdue 3lb packs of ground turkey for less than $6. Ground turkey is way better IMO. I never use ground beef anymore! I freeze it in 1lb bags.

  • I would do chicken tacos.  Or I make this taco bake thing w/ crescent rolls, taco meat and cheese that's yummy.

Really?!? I totally disagree. We were eating ground turkey til it came out of our ears and when I tried ground chicken I thought- wow this has so much more flavor! Thanks for the tip though b/c I buy ground turkey at Wegmans and it's up to $4.29/lb... killer!

me too... ground turkey has a strange flavor to me, so I only use it in recipes that have a lot of other flavors to mask it. (like chili, tacos, meatballs w/ sauce or other pasta dishes etc) But, ground chicken just tastes like chicken breast to me. Which I like the flavor of as is... but just like regular chicken breast, it needs to be well seasoned to taste good!
