DH Vent

We're supposed to be driving 7 hrs. today to my parents house for the week and what is DH doing....puttering around the house, taking his time, not even packed or showered yet.  DD and I are packed and ready to go.  It's almost 2 in the afternoon and I want to leave.  DD is so excited to go to the beach she can hardly stand it and has her shoes on and her bag of toys and is ready to walk out the door without her Daddy.  Ugh!  Men!!!

Re: DH Vent

  • Did you have an agreed upon departure time?  I always make sure to nail something down otherwise we would never leave the house!

  • Yes, I told him I wanted to leave by 2:30.  He's still sitting in his office right now checking the Big Brother Blogs.  Really!!!!

  • I would get yourself and your DD in the car.  Tell him you are leaving.  If he has such important things to do he can follow and meet you there.

    That will get him moving!

I would kill him!  Actually I would send my DD's in there to bug him to get ready.  Their voices and screeches would get him moving quickly!! :)

  • I can totally understand.  My DH is often the same way.  Everything operates on HIS schedule.  Drives me crazy.

  • Hmm, I think we are married to the same man!! lol my DH is exactly the same way, we will be in the car, waiting, (DS and I don't have much patience for this.) I go back in the house and he is taking his time like we have it. I figured out a solution, tell him that you have to leave an hour earlier than you really do and he will be ready by the time you need to leave. I have done this and it works!!!
