PT'd and itchy anus

DS has a red, irritated anus. If your LO has experienced that, what did you use to soothe it?

He is constantly digging in his butt.

    Call pedi. Make sure it is nothing else causing the itching. Sometime kids can get worms from playing in a sandbox. but those you usually find at night. Maybe some cortisone cream.

    My son has a very sensitive anal area. always prone to rashes. I thought we were in the clear once out of diapers, but if he uses regular old toilet paper to wipe he gets irritated. one time he scratched so bad he bled. i don't know if its not being cleaned completely that way or what, but we switched to flush-able wipes and it has made all the difference. also i would still use diaper rash cream when he was irritated just to help heal and that seemed to have a positive outcome! Good Luck.
