Success after IF

When did you ditch the changing table?

DD is starting to get really squirmy on the changing table.  (Ours is actually a dresser with the changing station on top, but you get the idea).  DS doesn't shift around as much.  I NEVER leave them unattended on the table and always keep at least one hand on them at all times.  It's so much easier on my back changing them on the changing table.

When did you stop using yours?

  • We are still using ours! My back can only take so many diaper changes and clothing changes on the floor...

  • we still use ours and she is almost 17 months old now.  I do change her on the floor when we are in the basement but otherwise I always use the table cause it is easier on me...even when she's fighting it.

  • I still use ours, but there are certainly times where it's a battle - lots of picking him up and putting him back down so I can actually get the diaper on! In my mind that's still easier than trying to change him on the floor! :)
  • We still use it for our 25 month old - it's SO much easier being able to strap him down and the height is perfect, much better than floor or bed. For #1 I'll often just change him standing up wherever he's playing but #2 we almost always take him to the changing table unless I can't go upstairs (like if I have him and the baby and can't transport both or something).

  • we moved to the floor when he started trying to roll off and crawl everywhere...i was too afraid of him falling off and getting hurt.  But that being said, I pulled out the old cushion this weekend and i think laying him on that during changes is keeping him a little bit more still...not totally, but some!
  • We still use ours.  Assumed we would continue until she was out of diapers....

  • I'm still using it.  I find that my son is a less squirmy on it than on the floor.  If he's on the floor he always takes off and then I just have a naked baby running around who throws a fit when I catch him.
It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!

  • We ditched it when DS took a nose dive at appx. 10 months... thankfully I caught him mid-leap but the first thing I did after I stopped shaking (he did not even cry) was put the table in the basement.  We have since changed him on the floor on the changing pad.

  • I still use it!  Much easier on my back.  Maybe have a bunch of things DD can check out in one of the drawers for changing time.. or I just sing songs and make funny faces to keep him busy!

  • Mine is like yours, a changing table on top of his dresser. We r still using it at almost 27 months. He is too long but it is easier. He knows the changing table means diaper change so he is pretty good. (although we did have a time when he squirmed aclot)

  • We still use it - she went through a wiggly period around 12 months, but now she is super chill and just let's us change her easily.

  • Still using ours!
  • hmm...you guys are starting to make me think that life might be easier if I start using ours again...
  • Still using ours too. We tried the floor thing (with a pad) but he squrims so much I've found it's much easier on the table. Sometimes I'll do a quick pee change and the floor still.

  • I think we stopped when he was 2 or 3?  It was easier to get him dressed up there too.
