Seriously, the newborn phas has nothing on 2 sick babies and an out of town husband for 4 days. One of the two of them is still up every 2 or 3 hours, like a newborn (or, even better, both up screaming at the same time because they're waking each other up) --
but then the weekend days are spent keeping up with a crazy, active, but yet not feeling well (i.e. tantrum throwing) toddler along with an infant, and the week days go between trying to get some work done and picking up early from daycare to go to the pedi.
I am so tired that I honestly don't remember things like whether I gave them their meds and have had to start writing things down.
DS seems to be feeling better during the days, at least, but DD is still worrying me. We might be looking at our 4th pedi visit in 6 days.
SO. SLEEPY!
Sorry for the "vent" - I just had to tell someone and I knew this was a safe place!
All that said, we survived DH being out of town and, in many ways, had a really good mommy-babies weekend
Re: Oh my gosh, most. tired. i've ever. been.
Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry! I hope everyone fels better and you get a break with your DH back in town!!
Still glad to hear that you had time to still call it a really good weekend, though.
That makes me happy!
Because we're fancy like that.
I can SOOOO relate to this!
When they were both so little I had to keep a log in the bathroom in a spiral because they were not both dosing at the same time and my brain couldn't keep up with remembering their meds schedule due to insane lack of sleep.
The HARDEST parenting experience I've had so far was when all 4 of us were puking sick at the exact same time. Beds, sheets, toilets, bath tubs, you name it - they were all covered in puke. And every time I'd go to clean up once space the smell of it would make me puke all over again. It was awful.
So glad DH will be returning soon. I hope you can go sit at a coffee shop or book store for some alone time. Or hell... just get some sleep, right?
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
