Bloody discharge at 16 weeks

Has anyone had a bloody discharge in their second trimester? It happened to me twice yesterday so I went to the ER to get checked. They did blood work and a sono. The ER Dr said the baby looked great and my blood work was right on track. He said to follow up with my OB on Monday and that if anything got worse to go back in. I haven't had anymore blood and when I called L&D they said it wasn't normal in the second trimester. I'm trying not to worry about it but I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. They said it could be strain or stress. I did sweep and mop that morning but I felt fine while doing it and after.

    I've known women who had periods (or thought they were periods) during early pregnancy, and went on to have healthy babies. Not sure the cause though. Also, depending on what you did before and how much there is, sex can cause a little bit of bleeding too.

    I had bleeding at around 14 weeks and went to the ER.  Same thing, Dr. said all looked fine with the baby, no hemmorage, etc. and said sometimes there is just unexplained bleeding.  I had a smaller bleeding incident around 20 weeks.  Went to OB office and they checked everything and said again, all looked fine and that it could be bleeding from a sensitive cervix, etc. but that babies were fine.

    I just posted about this above before reading your post.  Not to say we have the same thing, but it does happen in pregnancy sometimes, but I know it's definitely scary.  Both nurses I talked to this wknd said they had bleeding throughout their pregnancies & everything was fine.
