Rolling in Crib - HELP!

My LO has been rolling like crazy for about a week now, and has now begun doing it in his crib. The problem is he prefers to roll only one direction, so when he rolls close to the side of the crib he tries to roll into the side, and is banging his head.Any ideas?  We don't have crib bumpers as LO didn't sleep in his crib until a few weeks ago and now that he's mobile they aren't recommended anyways.  Ideas/suggestions are appreciated.

  • We have a breathable bumper and she almost always sleeps with her face in it. She bumps her head all the time, but there's a tiny bit of padding and its not like it is leaving marks when she head butts the crib :) For now, it is mostly so that she doesn't get her arms/legs stuck between the slats!

This. He doesn't even seem to care when he bonks his head. Silly baby!

  • This is probably terrible, but we still swaddle our 18lb 5 month old so she doesn't have the option of  rolling. :)

We tried to unswaddle, and that was the worst week of our lives. She kept waking up every 30 minutes to "practice" getting up on all fours and rolling around. She is now ductaped in her bed... (kidding.. but she is still velcrod in a swaddle)

If she can't move..alas...the child sleeps like a total rock.
