Poor Eve. :(

I think Friday night, eve got a bad bug bite on her forehead, just above her eyebrow. It actually looks like there might have been two bites.. but anyway, yesterday her forehead looked like it had a goose egg on it.. I actually thought thats what it was. Today though, the swelling moved down to around her eye. :( her poor eye is SO swollen.. it breaks my heart. Her forehead doesn't look as bad. DH says its normal for swelling to move down.. but it seems weird to me. I don't see a new bite though. Anyone heard of this? besides benadryl, what can i do?

    Evan had a few bites on his arm when we were camping...we noticed it at night and they didn't seem to bother him but his arm was SO swollen in two places. We gave him Benadryl and the swelling was mostly gone by morning. I'm sure it just looks bad and isn't bothering her too much. Maybe hanging outside in her pool or with the hose to get some cold water will help.

    Poor Eve! I sympathize because I am apparently a juicy treat for bugs and my bites often swell into welts. I usually just put some ice or a cool wash cloth, and try not to itch. Hope she is feeling better!

    So, it really is moving down (and spreading out). This is so weird to me. in the morning her eye was puffy right below where the bite was..and her forehead was less puffy.. Then in the afternoon her eye got less puffy but both sides of the bridge of her nose started to swell.. By the time she went to bed, her forehead has absolutely NO swelling, her eye is not very puffy at all, but the swelling is all in her nose and under both eyes in the top of her cheeks now.

    If it doesn't look pretty much normal in the morning I'm calling the pedi.. even though DH keeps assuring me it is normal.. but i get why it would be normal for like a bump... i don't get it for a bug bite.  Eve says it doesn't hurt or itch and she doesn't act like anything is wrong.

    Aww, poor thing. That is so weird how the swelling is moving down like that. I think I would definitely call the pedi and see what they say.

    Hmmm I remember when I was little I was super allergic to black fly (those little tiny black flies) bites. I got bit right above my eye once and my eye almost swelled completely shut. Any time I would get bit by those I would swell like crazy. Might not hurt to just give a call to her Dr.
