Hello everyone, first I am so sorry to read of your losses, but you have encouraged me to start posting here. This is literally my first post on one of these boards. I never posted on the Knot, or the Nest, or mc/pl (but I lurked). I may be new to posting but I've been lurking here since I lost my pregnancy in April at 6 weeks 3 days. I also have read over the TTCAL blog and I swear I will never be a phish or a goat! However, I have no idea if the sig I created works. I don't have too many questions right now. I'm here to contribute and support everyone.
I am a doctoral student so actively TTC hasn't always been possible every month for my DH and I. I was thrilled to get my first BFP because I would have been due when school was on break. We've been trying to conceive our first since Dec. 2010. We are hoping to start up again in August, because anytime after that I would be due when my classes are over for good.
Otherwise, I am 32, before I was a PhD student, I was a Speech-Language Pathologist and I loved it, but I wanted to do research too. Anyone else in grad school? There is very little that offends me, I love a good laugh, and I am very open about my loss with others. I love the WWYD questions here. As an SLP, I've spent my whole education and career studying communication. I will probably be jumping in on those! And about my avatar, well I'm a reggae DJ too. Anything else, just ask!
Just lurking here has really help me come to terms with my loss, so thank you!

Welcome, and I'm sorry for your loss. Good luck in your TTC journey!
My DH just graduated with his doctorate in PT (I'm also a PT) so SLP is close to our hearts:) And research is more heavily in DH's heart than mine, but kudos to you! We need more researchers in the world.

Yeah for therapists! Congratulations to your DH too. I agree with you about researchers, the speech field has been in need of them for a few years.
Welcome! I love that you are a Reggae DJ on top of all your other work! Too cool.
I am 32 also! Love to find those thirty-somethings out there. Although, I will have a birthday at the end of August.
I am considering grad school to become a principal. I am entering my 11th year of teaching.
PAL/PGAL Welcome
Welcome. I am so sorry for your loss.
I graduated from law school in 2009, but it was recent enough that I remember it all too well. Good luck finishing up your last year.
Though it's not SLP-related exactly, my minor in undergrad was sign-language and we studied some of the physical and psychological aspects of deafness and hearing loss. I thought it was fascinating.
I hope you'll be expecting your graduation present soon!
Thank you, that would be a good graduation present! Unfortunately ending classes just means that I get to start writing a dissertation. But it's all part of the process.
When I started law school our "plan" was that a baby would be my graduation present. (This was back when I thought we could just get pregnant when we wanted to.) I quickly realized that taking care of a newborn and studying for the bar exam wouldn't be a good combo, so we put it off. Then the idea of telling everyone at work that I was PG after only a few months of starting work seemed unbearable, so we put it off again. If only I knew then what I know now. *sigh* I hope writing a dissertation while taking care of a newborn is do-able! Maybe your LO will be a good napper! Here's hoping!
I'm so sorry for you loss. I'm sure you will find all the support you need from these wonderful, strong women. ((BIG HUGS))

I'm so sorry for your loss. Welcome to this board. I have loved it and found so much support here! And mostly from the NTTCALR posts - the fun ones that make this group a community, sharing one bond that doesn't always need to be spoken about. I guess it's a safe feeling?
ANYWAY, I'll stop waxing poetic
May I say that I love your diverse interests!! Glad you're here but I hope it will be a short visit

Thank you! I waited about 6 years between my MA and doctoral programs. I needed a break from my own schooling at first but a few years into my job, I started to get the urge to go back. I hope you do get to go back if you choose to, let me know if you ever have any questions about the doctoral process.
