Fenugreek

My LC recommended that I buy this herb/capsules to help with milk production. Have you used it before? Do you really think it helped? Did you smell like maple syrup(she said it gives off that scent.)

I used Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle. It worked well. My supply increased by about 30%. I did smell like maple. If your pits don't smell like maple, you aren't using enough.

Just started taking the Motherlove more milk plus, it has fenugreek and other herbs. I also just started drinking the Earth Mama Angel Baby milkmaid tea. I have noticed a huge difference in my supply! I do smell like pancakes, but I think that's fine! I bought my tea and capsules at the co-op in my town. HTH!

Yep! I started taking it about 3 weeks ago. Like Katie said, take it until your pits smell like a pancake house. Before, I was about 3oz shy of what DD was eating each day. Now, I'm able to bank about 2-3oz each day beyond what she eats.

I used fenugreek and blessed thistle for several months. My understanding is that you should use both together. Fenugreek helps your supply and blessed thistle helps the fat content of your milk. I also drank Mother's Milk tea about 1x a day.

Fenugreek - at least 3 pills, 3x a day, or more if necessary. I noticed a very faint maple syrup smell...and I think sometimes my urine sort of smelled like syrup. Blessed thistle - I think I took 2 pills 3x a day. I could find the fenugreek at my local grocery (Kroger) and sometimes it was BOGO Big Smile but we had to go to Whole Foods for the blessed thistle.

DO NOT get Milk Thistle! The pharm told my dad it was the same thing, and I took it for a couple of weeks b/f we realized it was NOT the same, and it does nothing to help (it may have even hurt my supply).

I haven't noticed it yet, but I hear many women say that they smell like maple syrup. LC's also make note of this :P Yup, better than many other smells out there... it's normal.

I used it, it worked fantastic, and yes i smelled like maple syrup. It wasnt a super strong smell unless you were thisclose to me

Just read the second question. family noticed during hugs, and co workers noticed (i was a cashier at a smal store so we worked in cramped spaces), but thought it was some kind of new perfume and said it wasnt offensive or anything
