Girl name? Lainey?

What does everybody think of the name Lainey for a girl? We can't decide. I've always loved it though. Thanks for your opinions!

I'm not a huge fan of it as a FN by itself. What about Delaney or Elaine/Elaina and using it as a NN?

I like it a lot, but I prefer the fn Alaina with Lainey as the nn.

Lainey is NMS. Sounds like a NN.

As pp suggested I would use Delaney as the fn and Lainey as the nn.

I love it but on a little girl. I'm not sure it sounds right on an adult. Maybe a more proper FN like Delaney?

I love it....we went with something more personal and unusual.  SHe was supposed to be a boy and we had Dylan picked out for the boy.  I loved Delaney but the hubby was not on board with it. So we just added an a to Dylan to make Dylana.  We pronounce is Duh-laine-a.  I have found out that it is acually a Welsh name meaning "Born from Waves" which is perfect because my husband surfs.  Amazing how names work out and are perfect for the child no matter what!!

Meh, it sounds like a nickname to me, like there's something missing. I don't like it as a full name.

I like it as a nickname for Elaine. It's too cutesy for a given name.

I had a student named Marlaina and she went by Lainey.  I never really cared for the name until met her.  Now I really like it!

I had a student named Langston, and her NN was Laney.  She was precious, she made me LOVE the name.  DH isn't going for it though.
