Food Allergy

If powder Alimentum is corn based

Can I assume that DS can freely eat corn products??? Trying to find some type of finger food for him for a cross country flight. Looking at cereals that are corn based, with minimal ingredients. What do you think?

  • Hmmm...I wouldn't assume that. My LO is on Similac Sensitive (cow's milk based) but can't have any other dairy products, not even yogurt. Has your DS been tested for a corn allergy? I know he can only eat like 5 foods right now, but I don't know what you've had him tested for or what his confirmed allergies are. I would definitely try it before your trip to see if he can handle it, but I know Kix cereal is corn-based and I got one from my local health-food store called Gorilla Munch by Envirokidz which says on the box:
Ingredients: Organic corn meal, organic evaporated cane juice, sea salt.

Allergic to soy, oat, egg, peanuts, and tree nuts

  • Ha! Gorilla Munch is what I have! He hasn't been tested for corn, I don't think. But all his allergies are non ige mediated, and most don't show up as positive for allergy anyway. I really wanna try out Gorilla Munch for the plane ride, I know he would be in heaven. Guess I have to trial it this week and see how he responds. Thanks!
