Gender Reveal for Coworkers? Cute or crazy?

Ok I live in Texas and all my family is back in Michigan (ILs are in Indonesia).  I've been at my current job for almost five years and consider most of these people dear friends.  So would it be odd to bring in boy or girl cupcakes to announce the gender when I find out?  People often bring in sweets just because and we always celebrate birthdays.  I just don't want to come off as the crazy pregnant lady.

  • I never turned my nose up to cupcakes in the office.  That being said, I would just frost the tops with pink of blue and set them out, people should get the idea without you having to be AWish.

    Yes

  • Yeah I was thinking I'd just put them in the kitchen and let the people know who had been asking via email that there are cupcakes in the kitchen.

  • I definitely wouldn't make too big a deal out of it, but cupcakes in the break room with an email announcing that they're there sounds fine to me!

Especially since I would assume your work will be throwing you a shower, I would keep it pretty casual.

I took cupcakes in for my co workers!  I dyed the white cupcake batter pink and frosted them with homemade buttercream frosting that I had dyed green.  They loved it! My one manager even switched shifts with another manger to come in early to be the first to find out what I was having.  I think its a great idea!
