After trying several bottles, we settled on the Dr. Brown's for the boys. If you use them, you know how expensive they are. We currently have 10 of them: 4-4oz bottles, 4-8oz bottles we keep at home, and 2-8oz bottles that we keep at DH's grandmother's house (since she watches the boys 2-3 days/week). My mom loves to shop at garage sales and she bought us 3-8oz Dr. Brown's bottles for $1 (d@mn good price of you ask me!). However, I'm not really sure what I want to do with them.
Regardless, we'd get new nipples for them since I'm just not comfortable with them using some other kid's used nipples. However, I'm not sure if I should use the bottles at all. Would you? I mean, I can sterilize them and buy new nipples, right? Should I just replace all the plastic inserts as well as the nipples and still use the bottles? Throw them all away? WWYD?
Re: Bottle-feeding mamas - WWYD?
I would buy new nipples and sterilize the crap out of the rest. Maybe steam them, soak them, and repeat a few times?
I'd do this too. We were just given a crap load of Nuk bottles from SIL and that is what I did. I don't see why you'd throw them away. If your really worried about it get new plastic parts, but I wouldn't bother.
