So do you think that someone can be racist against one ethnic group (whether nationality, race or religion) and not against other groups? Or do you think that if someone is racist they think they are better than the other group and therefore must be racist against all other groups? I know this is a random question but I had someone I am related to make a disgusting comment and I just have to question if they feel better than my family too since my kids are only 1/2 white.
And for my situation, I don't want anyone to be confused, it is not ok with me regardless of how they feel about other groups, I still lost any respect that I had left for them, this was not a case of ignoring it if it does not concern me.  FWIW, I RIPPED into them big time, told them not to talk to me any further b/c they were disgusting human being and that is one of many reasons they will never be alone with my kids.
Re: Can we talk racism?
People can absolutely be racist just towards one group. I think most racism comes out due to that person's own insecurities & self-worth.
As for your reaction - I think it's good that you made it known how you feel, but don't allow it to consume your thoughts. You'll be much happier moving on, and surrounding yourself with people who love you and your family for who you all are.
