Playhouse?

Does anybody have a playhouse for their lo?  I'm looking for one under $200.

Re: Playhouse?

  • We don't have one yet, but just wanted to share our experience.  We've been waiting to get one until the heat breaks a bit so we can tolerate being outside for more than a few minutes.  Check Craigslist or a consignment shop- I always see TONS of them.  Since it will be outside anyway, I don't see the need for us to buy a new one considering how much they go for.  Good luck in your search.

  • We just got rid of ours.  We had the Step 2 Neat & Tidy Cottage.  Pros-It was excellent quality and dd loved it.  Cons: it didn't have walls..so it got dirty easily and dd grew out of it quickly(she started having to duck her head to enter it).  My suggestion...get one with that is not as open as the Neat & Tidy and get a larger one that your child won't grow out of as quickly.  Since you only want to spend $200, I would also suggest keeping an eye on Craigslist.

This is what we have.  We bought it for DD last Christmas.  We kept it inside in our basement during the winter and then moved it outside for spring/summer.  She really enjoys it--it's probably one of her favorite toys.  However, I would recommend something larger for children over the age of 2.  DD happens to be very small for her age so I know it will be a while before she outgrows it, but that is not the case for most children.  Look at some larger playhouses and if you want to buy new, Walmart seems to have the best prices.
