MIL brought over some new PJs from Target that are 2T carters set. this pair https://www.target.com/Carters-Infant-Toddler-4-Piece-Cotton/dp/B004OFH3H0/ref=sc_qi_detaillink
The bottom of the pants gets super small. Is this a flaw?? Or is this how they are suppost to be. I think I will take them back they dont look so comfortable, or easy to get on.

I just bought some today in 2T b/c the 18mo ones are looking uncomfortably tight and they didn't have 24mo in most of them. I think that's the major difference between 24mo and 2T is that the 2T are a little longer and skinnier b/c they don't account for diaper. I haven't washed mine yet, but the pants look super long for my DS (he has short little legs). But out of the 4 pr. only 1 had pants, the other 3 came w/shorts.

Yep, this is correct. But, I really don't like the tight fitting PJs from Carters because I can barely fit DS's legs in them and just like your DC, he is pretty small for his age. I much prefer the looser fitting style.

I bought DS some 18 month footie pajamas from Carters BOGO sale. I got one pair of "snug-fit" and they fit him perfectly now and he's only 15 months. There is no way they are going to last him much past 18 months. The other pairs are regular fit and, while they are baggy now, they will definitely fit him for quite a while after the 18 month mark.
I actually love the tapered pj pants from carters b/c my kids (esp DD) are on the shorter side &this way they fit in the waist & elsewhere but they're not tripping on them. They do stretch out a little with wear, but yeah, I think most carters PJs are pretty snug overall except they do have some wider leg pants (which we can't wear b/c they're always too long)
I've found the Just One Year in anything to run smaller than the regular Carter's. I don't get it but for us it does run smaller. He's in 24M Just One Year snug fit ones while he's in 18M snug fit regular Carter's bought at Carter's. But I've also found the sizing to be off in their retail stores. I have on 18M sleeper that was as long as the 24 month.

The pj's are supposed to fit snug. That said, DD is true to size so she wears a 2T and in pj's I always go up a size or they are too tight. I guess I think that if I wore something that tight I would be uncomfortable. The flip side is that Carters summer pj's are really loose as they want the kids to be cooler and then tighter to keep them warmer in winter. I just picked up some of the pj's you are talking about as they are an amazing deal for 2 long sleeve pant sets and I went with the 3T. I have not washed them yet so I am not sure how they will fit length wise.
