Am I the only one not uncomfortable?

I keep reading about how uncomfortable everyone else is now. Granted, I'm due later in the month, but do a few weeks really make THAT big of a difference? I have had some back pain, but nothing intolerable... and I think that is from my poor posture. I know all pregnancies are different, but I almost feel like I WANT to be uncomfortable... to fit in better. I feel so... behind. Lol. Everyone has done their GTT already, and some have had their showers already. Maybe I'm just feeling impatient. 13 weeks seems so long!

Re: Am I the only one not uncomfortable?

  • I am sure that there are other women that are ok too but as the last couple weeks have gone by I have had more aches than I did have before. Its not terrible and totally worth every second to have a beautiful baby but its for sure gotten a little more uncomfortable at times. GL maybe you will not get too uncomfortable.

I'm sure I just jinxed myself though!

This was what worried me about posting this. :P

I just feel like I'm not moving anywhere...

I keep having everyone tell me that the baby kicks hurt, but honestly, I think it is the coolest feeling in the world. Even when he sometimes kicks somewhere that hurts. I find it more pleasing then painful.

  • Give it a few weeks. Once the baby starts gaining about a half pound a week you might be singing a different tune.

  • I wouldn't say I'm uncomfortable in general, but I definitely feel like I'm starting to have my moments.  It's getting harder to find a comfortable sleeping position at night, and sometimes baby moves sooo much when I'm trying to fall asleep that it's uncomfortable.  Other than the sleeping issues, I'm doing alright.

When does that start? I keep reading different things on the size that he should be and how fast he should be growing.

  • Last pregnancy I was really f-ing miserable by this point. I don't know if my outlook is just different this time since I knew what I was getting myself into but I am really not that "uncomfortable" despite having the same problems.

  • I had horrible back problems and other health issues prior to becoming pregnant that have not been so bad lately. There were times when I could barely get out of bed. I don't know that I am not uncomfortable but compared to then I feel great so I think I just don't notice or comment on uncomfortableness as much as I would have if I hadn't felt so crappy prepregnancy.

I think my book said 29 or 30 weeks.

  • for me it is just the heat, on the days that it isn't 100* out, i am fine.  my chiropractor takes care of my hip and back pain.

with DD it was once i hit 35-36 weeks that i was uncomfortable no matter where i was, what i was wearing, and didn't matter if i was sitting, standing or lying down.....would love to not feel like that this time.  time will tell.

I started feeling uncomfortable last week.  So between 29 and 30 and yes, a few weeks make a HUGE difference.

My biggest discomfort now is my ribs.  When I went for my OB Appt today, she got out her measuring tape and was surprised at how far up she was.  I have lots of pressure under my rib cage, can't bend anymore other than at my hips.

  • I also got hit suddenly at 29-30 weeks...hemmorrhoids, swollen feet, difficulty breathing...  It's almost impossible to get comfortable in a sitting position because LO is pushing up against my rib cage.  I can also no longer lie on my back, my favorite sofa position, because the weight is too heavy.  A couple weeks ago I was totally fine.

With DD, by this time around, I had horrible backaches and had a hard time sleeping.  With this pregnancy, I am still sleeping really well and don't feel pregnant.  Sometimes I forget until I look in the mirror and see how big I am.  But I ain't complainin'!

  • I honestly think every pregnancy is different (i know, a real revelation). For me, I had my uncomfortableness for a day or two early on -pelvic girdle pain for a day, inability to find a comfortable seated position another. But in the past 2 months, nothing. Not uncomfortable at all. At this stage of pregnancy, my friend who had her baby Wednesday was miserable. They didn't think she'd make 6 more weeks of work because she was so uncomfortable, tired, swollen, etc. One of the women I'm working with now is 38 weeks pregnant and still hasn't hit the uncomfortable stage yet.

I am 31 weeks tomorrow and I don't feel that bad.

I have something going on with a ligament in my foot - there is a pain in my heel when I bend over. I don't have the pain if I wear proper shoes. Sometimes I get it when I am barefoot around the house. It is not that big of a deal.

Today (and some other days this week) I felt like crap. I was tired and had problems focusing on even the simplest of work tasks. My lips started to get shriveled this afternoon so I thought I might be dehydrated. I drank a powerade and lots of water and I feel so much better. I thought I was drinking plenty of water before this.

I avoid spicy foods and tomato sauce since I am more sensitive to heartburn.

Baby doesn't kick the ribs or bladder. Sometimes she rides low and makes it weird to walk. I push her up and she will change positions.

  • Nope!  You're not.  I feel fantastic and I am due the 7th.  I even upped my workout routine in the last few weeks because I have more energy and I figure I should use it while I have it.  The only give-away that I am pregnant is my growing belly (and the kicks).   Everyone asks me how I am feeling and when I say 'fantastic'!  I am told over and over to 'just wait..' and to be honest, I am tired of the negativity.  I think I am going to start lying and make up complaints because it seems to be what everyone wants to hear!  ;)  Enjoy it and don't call attention to it cause no one wants to hear it, especially at 30 weeks.

  • Last pregnancy I wasn't this uncomfortable yet.  I became more uncomfortable around 32 weeks.  But in the last week or 2 I'm getting more and more uncomfortable.  Don't worry you'll be uncomfortable soon enough.  Stick out tongue

  • I'm 31 weeks and feel pretty good. My hamstring injury is starting to heal so I actually feel better than I did a few weeks ago. The only real discomfort I feel is when I have to sit down for 9 hours at a time to do grad school work since I am not used to sitting for long periods of time. I keep waiting for the discomfort to set in...maybe a few more weeks?

  • Yes, you're the only one Wink.

I totally agree with the comment that it depends on where the baby is laying.  All of you ladies who can't breath, have tons of discomfort by your ribs - I'm not jealous at all.  My problem has been that mine is sitting incredibly low so I've had a ton of pelvic pain/RLP.  And just in the last day I've started having major belly button pain so I can hardly move without it hurting.

  • Every day I get more and more uncomfortable.  No real swelling or charlie horses yet, mostly in my back and belly... and I've always had a bad back and IBS.  Last night she decided my sciatic nerve was a fun place to bounce on... The immense pain was right in the crack of my a$$!  Every time I tell DH how uncomfortable and huge I am he just looks at me and says, yeah, it's only going to get worse!  Thanks, jacka$$...

  • My back pain is bad but my  heartburn is worse. I am living off maalox liquid. I am doing a shot of it before and after dinner. No good. Is it October yet?
  • You may just me one of the lucky ones.  When I was pregnant with DD, I never felt miserably uncomfortable--in fact, I ran 3 miles the day before I went into labor with her.  This pregnancy has felt a little more difficult, due to more weight gain plus this crazy hot summer weather, but overall I feel pretty good.  So I agree that you know what, you may be perfectably fine until the end :)  Pregnancy does not HAVE to equal misery.
