Re: severe ms!!!! i am drained!
i feel the same way times and i was in the position when i was pregnant the first time before i had my miscarriage i was sooooo sick and i worked at a call center at the time and i had dr notes and everything and they wouldnt do anything for me. i even got attendance point for being out with my m/c and ended up getting fired b.c of it. i won my unemployment the company even tried fighting it! but yea this time around with this pregnancy ive been soo sick i couldnt imagine having a job right now. i would have lost it or who knows what. ive heard most companies are very leaniant or how ever you spell that when your prego. i hope everything gets better for you and just take it easy when you can. ive lost 40 pounds since i got prego and i was scared too but now im starting to get ALOT of food down, esp junk!

I know exactly how you're feeling. I was diagnosed w/Hyperemisis early in my pregnancy and was admitted in the hospital at 19 weeks. I would throw up EVERY thing I ate to the point where I was dehydrated.
I was on Zofran, Phenergran (pills and suppositories) which helped a little. I now take Unisom and B6 to control the nausea and vomiting. Unfortunately, the nausea is still here and I still vomit 2-3 times a week and Im almost 27 weeks. Not sure if it will ever go away for me. I've been on bed rest since the 2nd week of June and receive short term disability through my employer. Not sure if my employer will still hold my position but that's the last thing I'm worried about as mine and my baby's health comes first. I can always find another job.
Since you are feeling really bad, I would ask my doctor to take me out of work for a few weeks so that you can focus on taking care of you and the baby. It's extremely hard to work while feeling nauses and vomiting. I started to gain weight while on bed rest because I was focused on me and the baby and not work.
I hope you start to feel better so that you can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.
Thanks Babyamg! Question: how do you think I could bring this up to my dr? I just had my first visit with her, and wont see her until Sept 1st. I just switched drs. Thanks!!
You're welcome. Here's what I did, I called into the nurse line at my ob's office just about every day to tell them that I was still having severe nausea and vomiting at least twice a day sometimes 3 times a day. They would tell me to come into the office to check for "keytones" in my urine (which indicates dehydration), if they found any and they were very low or few, I was told to take a day off from work to rest and drink plenty of fluids (this happened several times). When that did not work, I called them again and went back into the office and sure enough I was dehyrated and was admitted in the hospital that same day and have been on bedrest since considering I'm still experiencing the same sypmtoms.
All dr's are different, some feel you can still work and others feel you shouldnt work in that condition. However, if I were you, I would inform them everyday of how bad the nausea and vomiting is. If you have to, go into the ER and they will start an IV on you to give you fluids. Once you leave there, call your dr and explain to him that you went to the ER and that you simply can't go to work in your condition. I would assume he/she will put you on bedrest at that point. You really shouldnt have to ask.
Also, when my OB decided to take me out, I asked her to do it for at least 3 weeks as my disabilty co. has a 15 day waiting period. So, be sure to find out your companys policy.
Good luck hun and I hope your feeling better.
