I had my membranes stripped, and was actually advised to take castor oil because it would be better on my body than a medical induction. It worked within 14ish hours. I didn't beat the induction by much! haha

40w4d. I was checked at my 40w appt and was a little effaced and not dilated at all. We scheduled an appt for 40w4d to strip my membranes and scheduled an induction for 40w5d. I went into labor a few hours before my membrane stripping appt.
40w6d and at my 40w appt had an internal without much progress. Good luck.

41w 6d, but the midwife put me (that day) on a pump-and-walk regimen. Pump for ten minutes, as much as I could take, then walk for ten. Repeat. And repeat. And...repeat. It kind of helped contractions get started in a consistent, if unorganized, fashion. But I don't think I'd do it again.
I was only one day late. However, I was not dilated at all and when I was checked 5 days prior to going into labor, the doctor said my cervix was, "still WAY up there." I woke up one morning with contractions that progressed pretty quickly and three hours after I started contracting I was already 4 cm. I cannot imagine how you must be feeling, I wouldn't have been a happy camper. The only good thing is, there is an end and it won't last forever. Hopefully he makes his debut soon for you!

I did have my membranes swept a couple days before; I don't know if that actually did anything because it was almost 48 hours later.

first thing in the morning of 40w5d, right after a 30 minute sobfest in bed when I woke to find myself still pregnant.
(I won't tell you about how he wasn't born until midday 40w6d though...)
yeah I've been allowing myself one sobfest a day. Today I used todays, and tomorrows by 11.
:-( I'm sorry. There's not much I can say to make you feel better right now, so I will just acknowledge that it sucks.
