Three-year old teethbrusher seemingly unable to spit

Obviously I'm sure that she has the physical ability to do so, she just can't seem to make herself do it. Has anyone else encountered this problem with their children, and if so, how did you correct it? Neither step-by-step directions nor parental modeling seem to be doing the trick...

My DS (he's a twin) didn't get this until about 3 years and a couple of months after. During pool time, I showed him how to take water in his mouth and spit it out like a fountain.  Now he does it too well! Embarrassed

  • My son doesn't get it either.  We try every night, but so far nada!

A little water fountain-esque tutelage, you say?...

I'd be willing to give that a shot at this point!

    Thank you :)

  • No advice, we're in the same boat, but I'll have to try the fountain!

DS just swallows the water then says "PUHH". I guess he thinks making a spit sound is close enough.
