I find that when DD goes to bed late, she gets up early. I have sworn by the book Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child by Marc Weissbluth. I read it when she was about 6 weeks old and we have never had any sleep issues! He explains that in kids, sleep begets sleep, so try putting him to bed earlier, even if he doesn't appear sleepy.
Since, IMO, Thomas goes to bed at a reasonable hour (7 pm), maybe consider just letting him stay there? I don't know how to change the early wakings. Aaron is an early waker. Always has been. He's usually up around 6 am.
I TRY to leave him in his crib if he wakes earlier than 6. I only get him if he's REALLY calling out for me or crying.
And it's true that sleep begets sleep but I do think some kids just are early risers. I hope T starts sleeping later for you.
Unfortunately, I have no advice either. My LO, also a Thomas, goes to bed at 7pm or 7:30pm the latest and he is up by 5:30am each morning.
Today there was a big sleep in until 6am. We recently switched to room darkening shades and it did not seem to make a difference. I hope our T's start sleeping later!
I did try to let him CIO one time and he cried for about 15 minutes on and off and then it was silent, but of course as soon as I walked by the door, he popped his head up and said "Mama".
Married 5/12/07
Took 3 IUIs and 2 IVFs for our sweet boy
He was worth the wait!
Re: Thomas is waking wayyy too early.
I got nothin', sweetie, sorry! Margaux has a late bedtime, but she gets up late too so it evens out.
*hugs*
