Moving LO to crib tonight.... terrified.

For two weeks we've been planning the move to the crib from bassinett in our room.  I'm hoping it'll end up in both parties sleeping a bit better and longer.  (so far longest stretch is five hours and that rarely happens). We planned it for this weekend (long weekend) knowing that if we got less sleep we could cope better. (and when I say 'we', we all know that means me).

I'm terrified he's going to be up every 20 minutes and I won't get any sleep.  I'm already tired from two nights of less than stellar sleeping performance.  And now DH has to work tomorrow morning, which means I do not get my usual three extra hours when he takes LO at about 7am).

Sigh. Wish me luck ladies.

  • Good luck! I'm sure things will go great. M slept in her swing mostly for the first month. I was convinced that what wasn't broke didn't need to be fixed. Then DH suggested why not pop her in the crib. She slept just as good for the first week, then shortly after she began to STTN (7/8-4/5). She just began to sleep from 8-7! It could work out for the best!

  • Aww good luck! We did this 3 weeks ago. I was just as terrified but it was worked out great! She loves her crib. I will tell you though.. the first few nights she got more sleep than me. I kept waking up in fear to check on her

  • Good luck! When we switched Lydia from the bassinet in our room to her crib, we all slept better, Lydia included! And I wasn't up all night worrying about her either! (I felt kinda bad, but we all eventually do it!! No worries now!)
  • Good luck!!!  We did this 6 weeks ago and the first few nights I barely slept and had to keep checking on her.  Now it's so nice to have our bedroom back and couple time after DD goes to bed.
