Planning ahead here, humor me lol. -- if we conceive as planned this fall, DS will be almost or about 2 when baby would be born.
So I'm window shopping strollers - right now the Kolcraft Contours Tandem looks pretty neat. I don't want to spend a fortune on the stroller either.
I had thought of the sit/stand stroller, but I think DS will be too young to willing just sit there.
TIA!
Re: Recommend your double stroller
I love my Baby Jogger City Mini Double, but it's $399 and doesn't come with any accessories. I have seen the 2010 model for $279 or you could look at craigslist, if you're interested.
Good luck trying for #2!
This, I bought a Zooper Tango for $100 on craigslist. I love it.

If you haven't already, a bunch of Zooper Tangos were recently recalled so you should check your model to see if it's one of the ones affected by the recall.
The Kolcraft is HUGE. I have the Baby Trend Sit N Stand Double because my oldest wasn't big enough for the sit/stand part and this model has 2 seats. It worked ok. Be warned, though, both the Contours and the Double have really long wheel bases, which makes them a b!tch to steer and turn. I now have a BJ City Mini Double and I LOVE it.
I decided against the Kolcraft Contour because it weighs 44lbs which I thought was ridiculous. I bought a 2010 Baby Jogger City Mini Double and I love it already-- it's 22lbs! (I thought I wanted a tandem until I realized how long the Kolcraft was-- the BJCM is so narrow and easy to steer!)
We've taken DS on a few walks around the block with it and it handles like a dream. DH said it was one of the best things we've ever bought! It's true that they're not cheap (I got my 2010 from Albee Baby for $299 with free shipping) and that you have to buy all accessories separately-- but to me, it was worth every penny.
I bought the Bumbleride Indie Twin, it's expensive, but I LOVE IT!! It is amazing!! It's under 30" wide which is hard to find, so it fits through a single door. The air inflated wheels makes it move and glide easily, I can push it with one hand. It comes in different colors but I bought seegrass because I have to 2 boys and love the color. See website.

We love our Indie Twin also, We have had it for over a year and use it almost every day. It works well in the snow/ice in the winter, and is very comfy for the kiddos. It is big though and takes up the whole trunk of our CR-V. So if you want a stroller to keep in the car, this is NOT it!
We have a Maclaren twin techno that we keep in the car. We got it on Craigslist for $50, and it was a bargain. I would not use this as my only stroller as we like to take walks outside, but it is a good one to keep in the car and bring to stores/on vacation, etc. It is definitely a 2 handed steering stroller, and not as easy to maneuver as the Indie twin.
Definitely check out craigslist - there are often doubles on there!
