EPO vaginally - how do you keep it inside?

in 3rd Trimester

I tried inserting an evening primrose oil capsule vaginally before bed last night for the first time.  Well...I'm pretty sure it all ran out during the first of my 2-3 nightly bathroom breaks.  Anyone have any ideas about how to deal with this?  I'm also taking it orally.

Me: 32  H: 34
DS #1: 8/10/11,  DS #2: 10/13/14
TTC #3 since October 2017

    You just have to cram it up there and hope enough of it stays in to do its job. My midwife suggested using it as a lubricant before sex so it gets up there. How many are you putting in? They told me to poke a hole in 3 of them and cram them in.

    I've been taking 3 orally and inserting 1 vaginally.  I was wondering if maybe I didn't get it up there far enough?  I'll try again tonight, maybe get DH involved :)

    I think it is supposed to help soften and thin your cervix.  I'm not sure if it actually has prostaglandins in it or if it just has a similar effect.  At my 39w appt yesterday I was still high, thick and closed : /  I'm hoping maybe this will move things along!

    Good information, ladies.

    I'm going to ask my doctor about EPO at my next appt. If he says it's okay for me to take, then it's worth a shot.

    I started taking it yesterday and it's a little tricky to get up there but I hope it works! The doctor didn't mention poking holes in it, she wants me to insert two 1000 mg gel caps per day. Be sure to wear a light liner, it does leak!

    That's good to know...maybe it always leaks out a little no matter what.  I just hope some of it made it to my cervix!  I'll try again tonight and use a panty liner.
