Anyone have a baby who never cries? (Bragplaint-y)

Lila almost literally never cries. She does a little grunty thing when she is hungry, but never cries. In the last month, I have heard her scream one time, and that is when I took her off one breast and put her on the other.

I don't have a clue where this kid came from.

Jack was a great baby but this one is unnervingly good. She STTN, eats like a champ, and is sweet as can be.

We are going to have a horrifying teenager. There has to be payback.

(And yes, I am fully aware that this might not last. Jack was awesome til about 9 months, and then he stopped STTN completely. We had to CIO.)

Remember, I am also dealing with a 2.5 year old...and potty training. Life is not sunshine and roses forever, that is for damn sure!

    Just kidding... sort of lol

Edit: I should add that my baby doesn't cry all the time, but this last week with this damn nursing strike and his thrush he's been Super upset and it's been breaking my heart.

  • Me!  She cries after her bath during the time I'm drying her and putting lotion on.  Once her diaper is on she is quiet again.  She's really just a content little girl!

She grunts when she wakes up or if she needs to poop or burp. Otherwise it's just smiles and coos.

  • Mine had a tough couple weeks in the 6-7 week period , but since then she is fabulous! She cries, but I always know why she is mad and can fix it quickly ( hungry or overtired are the main two reasons) She rarely, if EVER now, cries and I have no clue why. She is typically happy and content!

  • This is us.

My husband and I call her "The trap"; she is going to trick us into more children who will be terrors. She just started crying when she has to burp, because we are taking the bottle away; but she rarely cries for hunger or anything. We wake her to eat during the day, because she will literally go all day without eating if we didn't. She has been sleeping through the night I think around 5 weeks. (10:30-5am) By two months she has been sleeping from 9:30-6am/7am.

We swear we will be in trouble down the road, especially since we had a "meet the baby party" and our friends took pictures, and one of the last pictures he took (and didn't realize it until a week and a half later) was Reese burying her head in my MIL arm, and giving the camera the middle finger.

Yep. Sure sign of trouble. She can't be this good--I keep on wondering when it will just end.

Same here. I attribute it to me being her awesome mother. I mean, awesome mother = awesome baby, right?

Oh, wait.  It didn't turn out like that with my DS. haha.

ASB, I think we had our tough babies first :D

  • Us too! Dee loves naps, STTN, hardly ever cries... she's so sweet! We had a rough start so I think this is natures way of making up for it. :) Sometimes I'd like her to cry a little though... just a little (famous last words).

  • Violet is like this.  :)  She turned 2 months old yesterday, and slept over 9 hours straight last night.  She's also very smiley and interactive!  I tell her all the time that she makes being a mommy too easy, and that I won't be prepared for a more difficult baby down the road.

Having said that, I am not looking forward to 2 month shots tomorrow.  The ILs are coming in town tomorrow and staying over the weekend, and I'm worried that the combination of the doctor visit and the over-stimulation of having house guests might affect her happy persona for the next couple of days...

  • Compared to my head banging, temper tantrum throwing, food crumbling, refusing to nap these days two year old, DD is an angel sent from God to remind mommy that Drew use to be cute and cuddly too.

Compared to most other kids her age, she is just about average.

  • G is a great baby, but not as good as some of yours because he doesn't STTN yet.  The only time he cries is for food and if you don't have the boob or bottle ready for him when he needs it he's not shy about telling us to get our acts together, STAT! :)
  • My baby was known as "the screamer" by outsiders... until he got on his Prevacid. Now he is a happy, smiley, cooing, calm, quiet chunker... I KNEW that the screaming just wasn't HIM.

  • She never did scream/cry until she got her damn shots boo.  Oh and when we take her out of the bath. She likes to be in there.  But yeah she is a pretty darn happy baby.  Just give her a boob and smile/talk to her and she is content.  I really swe ar I should never have another child because I will most likely have a horrible pregnancy and a baby who never sleeps.  I can't do it ha.

  • I know I already posted a mean picture Stick out tongue but it was mostly because I've had a very hard week with LO. He's totally not himself with this bout of thrush and has screamed at me more than he ever has.

Normally, my baby is Super happy and will laugh and smile at me all day long if I didn't have things to do. I have many many pictures to prove it. And now that I've had time to relax for the evening I take back my picture and telling people they suck.

If you can't tell, I have a wicked guilty conscience and felt bad for my post (even though I was joking around), for you and for my Elliott. I didn't want people to think I'm mean, or he's a 'bad' baby.

  • M whimpers for like 20 min, before working up to a cry. It drives DH nuts. I don't mind. I'd rather her whimper than scream.

DITTO this exactly. I think that is how you are able to love your second kid equally right away. They are such angels in comparison to toddlers (and why didn't anyone tell me that the terrible 2's start before kids even turn 2?!).

  • Both of my DDs have been great babies. DD#1 is still a good kid, never had too many behavioral issues with her. The only issue we really having is hearing loss, which is something nobody can have control over. DD#2, great baby. Never cries, unless it's for her shots. She was STTN, but has been up at about 4ish every morning for the past week. But I'm not complaining! I consider myself extremely lucky we got two good DDs.
