Pregnant after a Loss

success after an unexplained 2nd tri loss??

HI ladies. Does anyone have a good story? I had a missed miscarriage at 14.5 weeks after two healthy pregnancies. Everything was perfect with the baby and with me so they dont know why his (it was a boy) heart stopped. The dr gave us the go ahead to ttc and I am terrified!!!

  • ((Hugs)) I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my daughter at 20 weeks when my water broke and I developed an infection. She had been perfectly healthy (we'd had a CVS done, so we knew there was no chromosomal issues) and my doctor never found a cause for my water breaking early. I have been pretty anxious this pregnancy, particularly right around the 20 week mark. My doctor was very sensitive to my concern and gave me frequent appts with close monitoring. But I'm now almost there. I still have moments of fearing the worst, but I feel more relaxed now being so close.

  • We lost our son at 16.5w for unexplained reasons -- perfectly healthy baby boy whose heart just stopped. Our next pregnancy resulted in our DD who was born 10 days ago. We waited 2 cycles to start trying and it took 5 cycles (which is average for us).

  • My water broke at 23 weeks after infection/ IC ( they could not determine which) I delievered 2 healthy angels.

We tried the 1st cycle asap.. than my heart felt like I was doing it to replace the feeling I had lost. I temped and charted or 7 months and on the 8th month used out last fertility treatment before insurance change. I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant.

  • I lost a little girl at about 16.5 weeks as well.  Her heart just stopped, a cause was never determined (no genetic issues, no infections, I passed all the RPL tests, etc).  We waited three months on doctor's advice (we were undergoing a lot of testing anyway), and got pregnant on our second try.  So far it's been a success and has passed all the tests we've done, but I still hesitate to say successful until she's in my arms.

I'm sorry for your loss.  This pregnancy has been really hard emotionally.  We didn't tell a soul until after our anatomy scan at 20 weeks.  The doppler has helped a lot, but it's still just so hard.  T&P for you.

  • I am so sorry for your loss!

I lost our son at almost 22 weeks due to a cord accident in January 2011.  I am now 6 1/2 weeks pregnant again and so far, everything looks good.  I am trying to be calm but it is hard.  I won't fully relax until the baby is here.

    Good luck to you!
