Woke up yesterday with intense pain that felt like spasms or "stitches" on my right side that hurt like hell. After an hour, I called my OB, left a message with a nurse
(this was at 10am) who told me to keep up my fluids and take some tylenol in the mean time. The pain subsided a great deal, but was still there, but I was able to sleep for about an hour. Got up and made myself a little bit of ice cream (it sounded appetizing) and watched TV for a while, had some leftover chicken parmesan a bit later, and around 2pm went to rest in bed some more. Called the OB back since it had been a while and she had said the doctor would call me in an hour. She said he'd call me soon. He finally called at 4pm. Based on the location I described and the pain I described, he said it was likely my gall bladder. He said the gall bladder sometimes doesn't work as well in pregnancy. He asked if the ice cream made the pain worse, I said no. He said I should try to avoid dairy products and greasy foods for a while, and avoid laying on that side.
Today I'm feeling better and am looking up my symptoms and round ligament spasms matches almost exactly. I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar symptoms, and what did your doctors say?
