Pregnant after IF

Maternity clothes shopping spree!!

Previously, my only maternity clothes were one pair of maternity shorts in khaki and one pair of maternity jeans.  Most of my regular shorts don't fit anymore, so I decided I needed to go shopping this morning since I'll need shorts for a couple more months.

I went to 6 stores and bought something at 3 of them.  I had one of those awesome coupons from JCPenney where you save $10 if you spend $10, so I got a pair of black shorts regularly $36 on clearance for $14.40, and only had to pay $4.71 with tax.  Woot!  I went to Old Navy, but disappointly they didn't have anything on clearance so I didn't buy anything.  Then I went to Motherhood Maternity and checked the sales racks and I ended up getting a pair of capris and a shirt.  I also went to 2 local consignment shops- nothing at one, but at the other much larger one, I got a pair of shorts.  They only had 1 double stroller that I didn't really like, but put me on a call list if anymore double strollers come in... I thought that was pretty cool.

Then I decided to go to Goodwill- I haven't been in one other than to donate in several years, but figured I would check it out.  They told me their plus and maternity sections were combined so I looked through to racks to find what was what.  I thought it was a little odd these were combined and there was much more plus size stuff in there.  Quality was hit or miss, and I saw a few things that were nice and could have worked, but didn't buy anything.  The prices were awesome though, so I'll definitely have to scout it out from time to time.

All in all, I think I had a good day.  I now have 3 pairs of shorts, 1 pair of capris, 1 pair of jeans, and a short sleeve shirt.  I think that should get me for the next 2-3 months since alot of my short sleeve shirts still fit, and then I'll probably need some Fall clothes.

  • Sounds like a good day to me! I was lucky and a good friend of mine and my cousin both gave me tons of their clothes. Oh, Target usually has a good selection!

  • That's great!!  I felt so much better getting stuff that actually fit me.  I had some stuff given to me and it was okay, but it all fit funny. I went to a consignment shop and got a few things and I felt pregnant instead of fat because everything just fit better.  My SIL had told me when I started just feeling like a fatso to go shopping, and now I know why.  I feel like I'm rocking my baby belly instead of half hiding it like it could be fat.
