Re: **Weekly Workout Check-In!**

  • This may be flame-worthy, but I haven't done a single thing to workout.  In fact, I've been lazier than I have ever been in my life.  I plan on moving and shaking after the 1st tri, but I'm just listening to my body and its always tired, so I'm always relaxing.  Hopefully things get better over the next 4 weeks.

    Happy Friday!  Hell yea!

  • My old gym membership expired 2 weeks ago, and my husband and I wanted to join a new gym together, so we tried a few places and joined a new gym on Monday!  We worked out Monday night and Thursday night at the gym, but unfortunately, I didn't make it on Tuesday or Wednesday (I was SO tired)!

I plan on working out more this weekend, no gym tonight, but we are planning on taking the dog for a long walk around the lake near our house, spin class tomorrow morning and Zumba class on Sunday morning.

My goal is to start working out in the mornings instead of thinking I will make it to the gym after work!  By the time I get home after a long (and sometimes stressful) workday, I am exhausted.  I have been going to bed early and waking up on my own earlier than I need to for work (which is not like me), so I think it will be much better for me if I start doing a morning workout!  That is my goal!!!!!!

  • I was away on vacation last week so I didn't work out at all, except for some swimming. I have not worked out at all this week...Embarrassed. I

am planning on doing some cardio at my gym in an hour or so and maybe some weights.

I overslept and missed spinning. I am irrationally worried about spinning even though I know it is ok.

I am too. Embarrassed Mostly I'm just afraid of my heart rate getting too high. I don't think I know how to NOT push myself in spin class.

I did 45 minutes on the elliptical on Monday, walked and then did an hour of yoga on Tuesday and then walked on a fast paced incline at the gym last night for 45 minutes. I'm going to try to get to the gym today too and to prenatal yoga tomorrow.

I am terrible at working out at home. I have my prenatal yoga DVD sitting there completely unopened. Basically by the time I get home, I'm ready to just hit the couch and not move.

And the biggest challenge for me this week has been working through the nausea again. I would have liked to get a walk in on Wednesday, but I needed a nap instead. I'm surprised I was able to go yesterday after feeling like total crap for most of the day.

I cannot WAIT for 2nd tri.

  • What have you accomplished fitness wise this week? This week was a lot harder for me. I was able to get in 2 runs and a long walk but the other nights I was DEAD tired and pretty much useless to the world.

What sort of challenges (if any) have you encountered? The fatigue has been unreal for me this week. I was able to push through it last night. Half the time I think it's mental so I'm trying to motivate myself.

Do you work out at the gym or at home? Or both? I work out at home or outside. I gave up my gym membership last summer as they kept raising the pricing and none of the other gyms in the area seem to be much cheaper.

What are your activity goals for the weekend?  We are driving to my in-laws after work today so probably no work out tonight but I'm hoping to hike the ridge by my in-laws house tomorrow morning. It's a killer incline and take about 1.5 hours to reach the top. Hoping for a run or some home aerobics on Sunday.

Hope all you wonderful ladies have a great weekend!

This is how I feel too. My heart rate is always high and I am drenched after class. My instructor is bad a** and gets in your face which is very motivating but I know she will get on me and I don't want to tell anyone yet. I know a few ppl in class and she is never there early for me to privately tell her.

What have you accomplished fitness wise this week?
Not much... I've been crappy this week.  45 min elliptical + weights, one swim.

What sort of challenges (if any) have you encountered?
Nausea is getting the best of me in the mornings (when I usually work out), and fatigue is getting the best of me in my attempts to remedy my lack of activity in the afternoon/evenings... Sad

Do you work out at the gym or at home? Or both?
    Mostly gym.

What are your activity goals for the weekend?
Mile swim in the lake tomorrow (assuming the water quality is ok... last week the bacteria count was too high) and 10 mile bike on Sunday.

do you do triathlons? your profile pic looks like your in a wetsuit so that's why I asked. I did them before I had my son and would love to back to it after this one!

As for my workouts this week, 1 20 m in workout from the 30 day shred, did level 3 and gagged my way through it. I feel horrible in the mornings, which is when I normally workout. The afternoon and evenings have been too hot to do any running outside. I'm ready for fall and 2nd tri!

  • What have you accomplished fitness wise this week?

I've started a new Prenatal Yoga program. I did 2 days

What sort of challenges (if any) have you encountered?

    My joints are really stiff

Do you work out at the gym or at home? Or both?

    At home

What are your activity goals for the weekend?

Not much, I'm going to try to do my yoga dvd, but with DH home we'll see. Its hard to take 50 minutes to do something like that. I figure if I do it 5 days a week thats good enough. We do play tennis on the weekends though. But I take it pretty easy

  • Other than a casual 30 minute walk by the lake with DH yesterday, I haven't done anything this week. But I am on vacation, and I'm absolutely exhausted. I get home Sunday night but don't go back to work until Tuesday, so I'm really going to make an effort to try one of my new dvd's on Monday.

Yep!  I really like them, usually... hahaha
I actually did one the weekend before we found out we were pregnant.  But, I had one last weekend and the beaches were closed because of the bacteria count, so even if they were going to allow us to swim, I wasn't comfortable with that... So, I scrapped it.

What was your distance before having your son?  I've done sprints, olympics and one half IM.  But I HATED the half IM... hahaha

  • I've been trying to stick to walking every other day, and I've been successful this week. I've done three workouts of 45 minutes.

The biggest challenge for me has been random spells of dizziness preventing me from running instead of walking. It's only for a few seconds, but long enough that I don't trust myself to run outside - esp on the uneven sidewalks in my neighborhood.

My goal for the weekend is to do a bike ride with my husband if it's not too hot. Before I got pregnant, we did one every Sunday and I miss it already.

  • Happy Friday, ladies!  Happy Friday, Salt!

What have you accomplished fitness wise this week?  Not as much as I was hoping.  30 mins on elliptical, 60 mins on elliptical, 20 mins on elliptcial, 20 mins on elliptical.  Abs every day.  Usually I do 40-120 (most often 80) mins on the elliptical so I feel like I'm slacking.

What sort of challenges (if any) have you encountered?  I've been getting tired really easily!  I literally couldn't keep going after 20 mins yesterday.  And my pelvis keeps rotating out of place, which is painful.  My physical therapist is getting me info on a "stability belt" meant to keep pregnant women's hips straight.  She said as a bonus, it helps hold the weight of the belly later on.

Do you work out at the gym or at home? Or both?  I work out at home.  MIL had a nice elliptical she decided she didn't want, so we inherited it.  It's been a blessing because I really can't motivate myself to go to the gym!

What are your activity goals for the weekend?   Nothing too special right now.  Just hoping to get some activity in.

I hope you all have excellent weekends!! I'm SO glad it's finally here!  I'm not on the "yay, weekend" boat right now.  I have to go back to work next week and I'm not looking forward to it.  I've really enjoyed being able to sleep whenever I want.

  • What have you accomplished fitness wise this week?  I did the elliptical for 45 min on Sun and Tues and weights on the other days.  Yesterday was a rest day.  Not sure if I'm going to do elliptical or weights today.

What sort of challenges (if any) have you encountered?  Just a little bit more fatigue with my ab routine.  I think it may be time to graduate to a ball.  Anyone have a good ab routine that doesn't involve lying on the ground on your back?

Do you work out at the gym or at home? Or both?  At the gym.  We have a great gym.

What are your activity goals for the weekend?  Work out both days!  DH is doing a boot camp class but it's a little too intense and involves a bit too much jumping around than my doctor advised, so I'll do the elliptical while he does that on Sat.  Then weights on Sun.

  • I went to yoga exactly once this week and haven't had time to go walking.  However, due to some spotting last week and into Wednesday, I'm trying to take it extra easy right now.

I workout either at the yoga studio or outside.  That's about it.  I might try a prenatal yoga video this weekend, because it seems a little more gentle than the Vinyasa class I normally do, so that might be a good goal.

What are your activity goals for the weekend? Same as above. I don't want to push myself too much. Overall, I think I'm doing okay! Smile

Sprints and Olympics, I was training for the IM when I got pg with my son. I would love to do a 1/2 IM but really like the shorter distances!
